About Us

HireHawk connects skilled professionals around the world with meaningful remote opportunities at U.S. and Canadian companies. We help clients build high-performing distributed teams while giving talented professionals access to roles where their expertise can make a measurable difference. HireHawk offers a fully remote environment, structured onboarding, clear expectations, and an outcomes-focused culture built around ownership and follow-through.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lien Negotiator who can independently manage medical and third-party liens across personal injury cases from identification through final resolution. This is not an entry-level position; you will be expected to step into an active caseload, work with minimal supervision, and immediately contribute to stronger settlement outcomes.

Your work will directly affect how much clients ultimately receive from their settlements. You will partner with case managers and attorneys, negotiate aggressively but professionally with lienholders, resolve billing discrepancies, and help ensure every file is accurate and ready for clean disbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the lien resolution process across an active portfolio of personal injury cases.
  • Identify, document, and continuously track medical, insurance, government, and third-party liens throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Negotiate meaningful lien reductions with hospitals, medical providers, insurers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other lienholders to maximize client net recovery.
  • Request, review, and validate lien statements, billing records, balances, and supporting documentation before settlement.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, duplicate charges, incorrect balances, and other issues that could delay or reduce settlement disbursements.
  • Coordinate closely with case managers and attorneys to align lien resolution with settlement timelines and case priorities.
  • Prepare clear, accurate lien summaries and final figures for settlement disbursement.
  • Maintain complete and organized lien documentation within Filevine and other firm systems.
  • Ensure lien handling follows applicable settlement procedures and internal compliance requirements.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload while keeping negotiations, follow-ups, and deadlines moving without constant supervision.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Proven personal injury lien negotiation experience; this is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating lien reductions and improving client net settlement recovery.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, hospital, medical provider, and insurance-related liens.
  • Experience working within personal injury settlement and disbursement workflows.
  • Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong negotiation, written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional accuracy.

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience using Filevine case management software.
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based personal injury law firms remotely.
  • Experience resolving complex or disputed lien balances involving multiple lienholders.
  • Familiarity with lien reporting, settlement statements, and final disbursement documentation.

Benefits

  • Access to a $200K+ perk marketplace with discounts on 150+ global services.
  • Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.
