About Our Client
Our client is an Australian FinTech company that provides a platform for business credit cards and spend management. In essence, they offer a modern alternative to traditional corporate cards, designed to simplify spending for businesses, save time and money on financial administration, and give businesses greater control and visibility over their expenses. Their key services include providing Mastercard-powered credit cards to businesses, which can be issued to employees, and a spend management platform that allows businesses to track spending in real-time, capture receipts, categorize expenses, and automate reconciliation with accounting software. Our client also enables employees to use a mobile app to upload receipts and add notes, streamlining the expense reporting process.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of our applications and services operating in secure cloud environments. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions that support the delivery of high-quality software in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Working closely with software engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams, you will drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle by developing robust automation frameworks, validating APIs, and ensuring applications perform reliably in authenticated cloud environments.
Experience working within fintech, payments, financial services, or other highly regulated industries will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation test frameworks for web applications and APIs.
- Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Validate application functionality, performance, and reliability within authenticated cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain API automation to ensure the integrity of backend services and integrations.
- Collaborate with software engineers to identify, investigate, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews to embed quality throughout the development process.
- Perform root cause analysis on defects and provide clear documentation and reporting.
- Continuously improve test automation coverage, testing processes, and quality standards.
- Promote best practices in quality assurance and test automation across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in QA Automation Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of testing applications in authenticated cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Django.
- Proficiency in SQL for database validation and data integrity testing.
- Experience using Postman for API testing and validation.
- Hands-on experience with Python.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience testing financial technology, payments, banking, accounting, or other systems where security, accuracy, and reliability are critical.
