SUMMARY

The Amazon Inventory Planner is responsible for managing inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment across Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central accounts to ensure optimal inventory levels that maximize sales, prevent stockouts, minimize excess inventory, and support overall account profitability. Working closely with the Business Operations Specialist and Inventory team, this role monitors inventory health, analyzes trends, and executes inventory strategies aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive inventory professional with a strong understanding of Amazon's selling platforms, exceptional forecasting and inventory optimization skills, and the ability to balance inventory investment with product availability to drive sales growth and operational efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inventory Management: Manage daily inventory operations across Amazon Seller Central (FBA and FBM) and Vendor Central accounts by monitoring inventory levels to maintain optimal stock availability and prevent stockouts, overstocks, and stranded inventory. Create and manage inventory replenishment plans in collaboration with the Business Operations Specialist using sales forecasts and lead times. Track inventory movement across warehouses, Amazon fulfillment centers, and third-party logistics providers, while coordinating inventory transfers and replenishment shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Analyze historical sales data, seasonality, promotional calendars, and market trends alongside the Business Operations Specialist to forecast product demand. Recommend inventory forecasts and purchasing decisions under the guidance of the Business Operations Specialist and Inventory team. Collaborate with the Inventory and Product teams to ensure products are available when needed and support new product launches through inventory planning and forecasting strategies.
  • Amazon Account Management: Monitor the overall health of Amazon inventory by reviewing key performance metrics, including Inventory Performance Index (IPI), excess and aged inventory, sell-through and in-stock rates, and restock limits. Review Vendor Central purchase orders, coordinate fulfillment requirements, and manage Amazon replenishment reports and restock recommendations. Resolve inventory-related issues such as stranded inventory, suppressed listings, and receiving discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory management and uninterrupted product availability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, operations, or Amazon marketplace environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central.
  • Experience with inventory forecasting and replenishment planning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills, with the ability to review large datasets and reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote office environment and coordinate regularly with warehouse and fulfillment partners.
  • Experience with FBA inventory management and Vendor Central forecasting.
  • Knowledge of Amazon inventory performance metrics and policies.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, or forecasting software.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce operations, retail distribution, or publishing inventory management.
  • Occasional travel to Exton, PA required.
