The listing

Daybreak Health partners with school districts to make sure any student who needs mental health care can actually get it. The gap we're closing is real: the recommended ratio is one school psychologist per 500 students, and the national reality is closer to one per 1,200, which means families wait months while counselors carry impossible caseloads. We match every student to a clinician based on language, culture, identity, and what they're actually working through, usually starting care within a week or two of a referral and at no cost to the family. It works. 81% of students improve on standardized clinical measures, 92% of families report meaningful behavioral change at home, and 80% of school staff see better attendance, grades, and behavior. We're backed by Union Square Ventures, Lux Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Maven Ventures, and Y Combinator, and we already serve districts representing more than a million students. That still leaves most of the country without an answer, which is exactly where this role comes in.

In this role, you will own the full recruiting cycle for our licensed therapists, counselors, and social workers who deliver care to the young people we serve. This is a high-volume, relationship-driven role. Mental health clinicians are in high demand, so you'll need to move fast, communicate clearly, and keep candidates engaged from first contact through offer. You'll work closely with clinical leadership to understand hiring needs and make sure every open seat gets filled with someone who is a strong fit, clinically and culturally.

What you'll do

  • Actively source and engage licensed clinicians through job boards, outreach, and referrals
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified candidates across multiple states
  • Conduct video screens to assess licensure, experience, and fit for our patient population
  • Coordinate and support the interview process with clinical leadership
  • Partner with credentialing and onboarding teams to set new hires up for a strong start
  • Keep candidate records and pipeline stages accurate and up to date in the ATS
  • Write and maintain clear, compelling job postings
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics like time-to-fill and pipeline health

Who thrives here

  • Moves fast, since clinical talent gets snapped up quickly
  • Organized enough to juggle many open roles and candidates at once
  • Strong communicator, with candidates and hiring managers alike
  • Empathetic, since candidates are often clinicians themselves
  • Resilient, since high-volume recruiting means a lot of no's before a yes
  • Detail-oriented, especially around licensure and credentialing requirements
  • Genuinely curious about behavioral health and mission-driven work

Qualifications

Must-haves

  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in healthcare, behavioral health, or another licensed or credentialed field
  • Experience managing a full-cycle recruiting process, from sourcing to offer
  • Comfort working with high candidate volume across multiple open roles
  • Experience using an ATS to track candidates and pipeline stages

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with clinical licensure requirements (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) across multiple states
  • Experience recruiting at a startup or fast-growth company
  • Background or interest in mental health, especially youth mental health

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $80,000-$90,000, depending on experience
  • Performance bonus: $10,000+, tied to hiring goals
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k
  • Unlimited PTO (with an enforced 3+ week minimum)
  • Company-wide Mental Health Days every quarter
  • Work from Home Stipend
