About Winona:
Winona is one of the leading telemedicine companies providing HRT for women in menopause. We’ve built all of our technology in-house including an EHR, patient care admin system, patient portal, website, marketing technology etc. Winona has two compounding pharmacies and a team of in-house physicians providing world-class care via a fully vertically integrated business model.
About the role:
We are seeking an Email Marketing Developer to build, test, and maintain high-performing, responsive email templates in Iterable. This is a highly technical role focused primarily on email HTML/CSS development, templating, and quality assurance. In this role, you will bridge marketing strategy and technical execution by creating scalable template systems, building reusable components in Iterable, resolving cross-client rendering issues, and supporting automated workflows across our martech stack.
Seniority Level: Mid Level
Responsibilities:
Email Development
Build and maintain responsive, accessible email templates in Iterable—using both drag-and-drop editors and hand-coded HTML/CSS depending on the project requirements.
Develop HTML templating for direct mailers (letters, postcards, and print assets) as part of our brand redesign.
Develop reusable, modular templating systems and components in Iterable so campaigns ship faster and stay visually consistent across all lifecycle streams.
Optimize emails for fast load speed through efficient image compression, modern file formats, and lightweight CSS.
Rendering & Quality Assurance
Audit, review, and QA HTML email code generated by AI/agents to ensure technical accuracy, formatting, and rendering integrity.
Debug and test campaigns across all major inboxes and devices—including Apple Mail, Gmail, and Outlook—ensuring flawless display in dark mode and mobile layouts.
Own the email HTML QA process before send to catch and resolve rendering issues early.
Integrations & Automation
Connect Iterable and other martech tools using APIs, webhooks, iFrames, and low-code automation platforms (Make, Zapier).
Build automations that support lifecycle experiments and find creative workarounds for platform limitations.
Support integrations and cross-tool workflows between our email/lifecycle systems (Iterable) and community platforms (Circle).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with designers and strategists to flag design feasibility and rendering risks early—at the brief stage, not after build.
Bring proactive UX and accessibility judgment to improve the overall customer experience, extending beyond the email inbox.
Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on experience in technical email development and marketing operations.
Proven experience developing hand-coded, responsive HTML/CSS emails and direct mail HTML templates (postcards, letters).
Hands-on experience with Iterable (or a comparable ESP such as Braze, Klaviyo, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud), including a strong understanding of when to use drag-and-drop vs. full HTML code.
Demonstrated track record of building modular, reusable email template systems and component libraries across multi-touch campaigns.
Deep knowledge of cross-client rendering, dark mode optimization, mobile responsiveness, and email accessibility standards (WCAG).
Comfort with low-code automation tools (Make, Zapier) and connecting platforms via APIs and webhooks.
Working knowledge of JavaScript for basic scripting and logic is a plus.
Access to a personal computer with a stable internet connection capable of efficiently running the required tools and applications.
Available to work flexible hours while maintaining availability until at least 2:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) for meetings and collaboration with the US-based team.
Tools & Software:
Primary ESP: Iterable (or similar: Braze, Klaviyo, SFMC)
Languages: Email HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Automation & API: Make, Zapier, Webhooks, APIs, iFrames
Integrations: Circle (Community Platform), Direct Mail Platforms (LOB Templates)
