The listing
We are seeking an experienced Investment Banking Associate to support complex M&A transactions, financial analysis, and deal execution.
The ideal candidate has previous experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction advisory, private equity, or corporate development. This role requires excellent financial and accounting knowledge, advanced presentation skills, strong attention to detail, and outstanding written and spoken English.
Key Responsibilities
- Build complex financial models using historical financial statements, operating assumptions, and detailed projections.
- Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP.
- Identify and correct accounting classifications and inconsistencies across financial reports.
- Create detailed, polished, and visually compelling PowerPoint presentations.
- Support all stages of M&A deal execution, including due diligence, financial analysis, marketing materials, and transaction documentation.
- Draft clear, professional, client-facing materials in English.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout transaction processes.
- Use AI tools to improve research, analysis, document preparation, and overall workflow efficiency.
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience; candidates must have at least 2 years and no more than 10 years of relevant experience.
- Direct experience with mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and a strong eye for presentation design.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Comfort using AI tools and learning new technology-driven workflows.
- Based in Colombia, preferably Bogotá, although exceptional candidates in other locations may be considered.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in the following environments will be strongly considered:
- Investment banking, particularly within an M&A team.
- Strategy or management consulting involving M&A due diligence.
- Transaction advisory or M&A accounting at an accounting firm.
- Private equity investment or acquisition teams.
- Corporate development or internal M&A strategy.
