Role Description
As a Data Engineer, you will support agile projects across the conceptual and technical design, development and optimization of data architectures. You will work from business analysis and functional design through technical implementation, using modern methods and technologies to create efficient, transparent and high-quality data solutions. As your experience grows, you will take ownership of topics, lead smaller workstreams and teams, and contribute ideas to internal initiatives.
- You support challenging agile projects covering the conceptual and technical design, development and optimization of data architectures, from business analysis and functional design through implementation
- You take on data-engineering, business-analysis and solution-design tasks and build knowledge of the different aspects of data architecture through project work and internal training
- You use modern methods and technologies to design and implement highly efficient, transparent and high-quality data-architecture solutions
- You progressively take greater ownership of your topics and lead subprojects and smaller project teams on architecture-related assignments
- Alongside project delivery, you contribute to internal initiatives, help develop them and put your own ideas into practice
Skills and Expertise
- You have a successfully completed university degree, for example in computer science, business information systems, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable discipline
- Ideally, you have relevant practical project experience in the conceptual design and implementation of data architectures and technologies such as data lakes and data warehouses, as well as data-storage concepts
- You bring initial experience in conceptual data modelling and practical data engineering, plus at least three years of relevant development experience with SQL and good Python skills
- You have experience with cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure and AWS, and with Big Data or enterprise-wide databases
- You have some experience in consulting or banking environments
- You are a collaborative team player with strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Fluency English (German is a big advantage)
