If you are passionate about improving how software is built and delivered, solving complex delivery problems, and driving continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in Build and Release Engineering, DevOps, Cloud or Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, and/or SRE.
  • Experience designing, supporting, and improving high-volume SaaS CI/CD pipelines and applying continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure-as-code, and container deployment practices to application delivery.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD and application delivery using cloud-based compute, storage, networking, infrastructure as code, and containerization technologies for Build and Release-owned resources; Azure and Kubernetes preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting application builds and deployments across Windows and Linux systems, with strong practical troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience deploying applications to container platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
  • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and using ITSM practices where applicable.
  • Experience supporting release activities, investigating build or deployment failures, and improving delivery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own and support GitHub Enterprise Cloud and GitHub Actions, including enterprise, organization, and repository administration; runners; reusable workflows; and delivery controls in partnership with identity and security teams.
  • Own and support Argo CD and Octopus Deploy, including the workflows and configuration used to deliver applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain application deployment configuration and workflows for Kubernetes and Docker Swarm, and support application migrations to Kubernetes and greater adoption of Kubernetes. Partner with the teams that own cluster infrastructure and operations.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for shortening build and release cycles, improving quality, increasing reliability, and increasing the security of delivered software.
  • Define delivery changes as code, including pipeline, deployment, and configuration changes. Use Terraform for Octopus configuration and Build and Release-owned Azure resources.
  • Improve build and deployment reliability through automated validation, recovery and rollback capabilities, and analysis of failure modes.
  • Enable development and other technology teams to deploy through reliable self-service workflows and provide escalated technical guidance when problems occur.
  • Support the application release team when build or deployment problems occur and directly own selected Information Technology releases.
  • Partner with other technical leaders to ensure all newly introduced systems are supportable and maintainable by both development and operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improving service delivery, the delivery platform, and release processes through process improvement and continual development of documentation and runbooks.
  • Provide delivery-focused on-call coverage and other duties as required.
  • Ensure supported systems and operational activities comply with organizational security, HIPAA, and operating policies.
  • Identify and eliminate repetitive or error-prone delivery work using PowerShell, Python, or other appropriate automation.
