Grounded in a talent-centric mindset, Maker Lab is a marketing agency designed to build decentralised technology-led agency teams, rooted in collaboration with clients from the ground up. Maker Lab’s cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary specialists are embedded into client teams across digital marketing competencies — from measurement & analytics to content production.
Role Summary:
Maker Lab supports clients across technology, entertainment, financial services and the payments industry. We're looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and support our amazing clients in the music and entertainment industry.
We're looking for a Data Scientist to build the models and analytical systems that power smarter marketing. Combining statistical modelling, machine learning, and applied data science, you'll turn complex audience signals into actionable insights, empowering teams across APAC to make faster decisions, uncover new opportunities, and drive meaningful fan engagement.
Contract Type: 12-months Fixed Term Contract
Role:
- Design, train and validate machine learning and statistical models that monitor product consumption velocity, flag early-stage trend spikes, and calculate real-time success probabilities for upcoming releases.
- Partner with data engineering to define feature requirements and consumption patterns for a unified data engine that ingests real-time signals from DSPs, social networks and eCommerce platforms.
- Build localised data tokenisation and anonymisation approaches into modelling workflows to ensure compliance with cross-border data regulations when working with data from regulated markets.
- Use modern AI coding assistants to rapidly prototype, test and iterate on models, and to build interactive dashboards and visualisations for non-technical marketing teams to monitor campaign performance.
- Develop and refine a natural-language AI briefing intake system, including automated classification of incomplete or non-compliant briefs and AI-generated brief enhancements drawn from historical campaign data and past model outputs.
- Collaborate with Paid Media on predictive scoring to prioritise bulk ad deployment for strong-performing campaigns, and with Creative teams on data-informed, Gen-AI-assisted script generation for proven creative assets.
You:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 9-12 years of professional experience in data science, statistical modelling, or predictive analytics within high-volume tech or digital media.
- Deep hands-on experience building and validating production ML models within Databricks environments, with advanced proficiency in Python, SQL and experimentation/statistical methods.
- Fluent in using modern AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate model iteration, testing, and analytical workflows.
- Strong understanding of data privacy frameworks and cross-border data security protocols, particularly when working with data from complex regulatory environments.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
Contract Type: 12-months Fixed Term Contract
