Meet the Team 

Responsible for cloud cost management, including but not limited to, cost model design, cost analysis, tagging and allocation strategy implementation, budget forecasting and reporting, and ongoing cost optimization while following data governance, financial controls, and reporting standards and guidelines.

What You’ll Do 

  • Responsible for cloud cost management and optimization, including but not limited to, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and ongoing cost governance across multi-cloud environments while following FinOps best practices, financial controls, and organizational reporting standards.

  • Responsible for executing full FinOps lifecycle activities (Inform, Optimize, and Operate phases) using cloud cost management tooling in collaboration with engineering, finance, and procurement teams using Lean-Agile methodologies.

  • Responsible to complete assignments including but not limited to cost model design, tagging and allocation strategy implementation, rate optimization (reserved instances, savings plans, committed use discounts), and unit economics reporting while following data quality, governance, and process requirements.

  • Assist in root cause analysis of cost anomalies, budget variances, and underutilized or misconfigured cloud resources.

  • Support team in identifying daily assignments and reporting progress at daily stand ups.

  • Support financial and technical stakeholders by building showback/chargeback models, dashboards, and verification strategies to support ongoing cost optimization initiatives.

  • Designing and implementing systems responsible for aggregation and analysis of cloud billing and usage data across the organization.

  • Responsible for ensuring infrastructure and architecture changes do not regress cost efficiency by utilizing forecasting models and scenario analysis.

  • Passion for cloud economics and driving a culture of cost accountability across engineering teams.

  • Communicate well in a team environment, being able to clearly articulate cost trends, savings opportunities, and support needed to help the team accomplish financial goals.

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or related technical field plus demonstrates competencies and technical proficiencies typically acquired through 6+ years of experience or;
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or related technical field plus demonstrates competencies and technical proficiencies typically acquired through 3+ years of experience or;
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Torc's total compensation package will also include our corporate bonus and stock option plan. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
