We are looking for a Director of Federal Tax that will serve as the leader of DDN’s consolidated tax reporting, US compliance, and planning functions. This role oversees the worldwide ASC 740 income tax provision, consolidated US federal income tax return, and key US international tax matters including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, and strategic tax planning initiatives.

Reporting directly to the VP of Tax and embedded within the global finance organization, you will play a central role in shaping the Company’s tax strategy, reporting processes, and compliance framework. You will partner closely with executive leadership, finance, legal, treasury, FP&A, and external advisors to manage risk, optimize DDN’s global tax position, and support strategic business initiatives.

What you will own
Lead Worldwide Tax Provision
Drive the redesign of ASC 740 income tax provision workpapers for a consolidated group, including enhancing workpaper methodologies, documentation, controls, and supporting schedules to improve accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness.
Evaluate and implement a software solution to streamline the provision process to scale with the growth of the company.
Lead quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision calculations and disclosures.
Manage worldwide consolidated tax reporting, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and tax account reconciliations.
Oversee effective tax rate analysis and effectively communicate relevant aspects of the tax provision to key executives.
Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and controllership teams.
Lead Federal Tax Reporting & Compliance
Own the consolidated US income tax returns and related filings.
Lead IRS and local audits, examinations, notices, and controversy matters.
Ensure strong governance, controls, and documentation across the tax function.
Shape Tax Strategy & Planning
Lead modeling and analysis of GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, and other US international tax considerations.
Support acquisitions, restructurings, financing transactions, and legal entity optimization.
Identify planning opportunities that support business growth and shareholder value.
Evaluate tax law changes and advise leadership on strategic implications.
Lead a Team
Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports across the US tax organization.
Promote technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Support succession planning and long-term organizational capability building.
Qualifications
CPA and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
15+ years of progressive tax experience.
Significant experience within a multinational corporation.
Deep expertise in ASC 740, consolidated return compliance, federal tax planning, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits.
Proven experience leading teams and partnering with executive stakeholders.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
