The listing
1inch is the DeFi ecosystem building financial freedom for everyone. 1inch products help users and builders trade, hold and track digital assets - with the self-custody, comprehensive security and the intuitive user experience they need to unlock the potential of true crypto ownership. 1inch protocols and APIs provide core infrastructure across the DeFi industry and beyond. So if you're someone who thinks big, moves fast and wants to make an impact right from day one, then get ready to join our industry-changing team.
Your mission
Lead our infrastructure and platform engineering function and evolve it towards AI-driven, progressively autonomous operations.
You’ll lead the team responsible for the cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, CI/CD systems, observability platforms and developer capabilities that power the 1inch platform and broader DeFi ecosystem. You’ll define and deliver a platform strategy that improves reliability, scalability, security, developer experience and operational efficiency.
You’ll apply Cursor AI and agentic automation across the platform lifecycle from infrastructure provisioning and deployment to monitoring, troubleshooting, optimisation and incident response. You’ll establish operational feedback loops and develop controlled self-healing capabilities that detect problems, identify likely causes and execute safe remediation.
You’ll ensure automation operates within defined permissions, approval requirements, audit trails, rollback mechanisms and security policies. This role combines strategic leadership, technical judgement, people management and close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance and IT.
What you’ll do
- Define and execute the DevOps and platform engineering strategy, aligning the platform roadmap with company, product and engineering priorities.
- Lead, mentor and grow the team through hiring, performance management, career development and succession planning.
- Establish clear ownership, engineering standards, operational processes and governance while building a culture of accountability, automation, reliability, security and continuous improvement.
- Own the architecture and operation of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, storage and shared platform services, improving scalability, resilience, standardisation and operational simplicity.
- Apply infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, automation-first and controlled-change principles while overseeing capacity planning, cost optimisation, technology selection and strategic vendor relationships.
- Embed Cursor AI and agentic automation across provisioning, CI/CD, release engineering, observability, troubleshooting, capacity planning and cost optimisation.
- Build controlled self-healing mechanisms that detect anomalies, identify likely causes, execute approved remediation, verify recovery and learn from outcomes.
- Provide self-service infrastructure, deployment capabilities, reusable tooling, paved paths and AI-assisted workflows, measuring agents for safety, accuracy, cost, auditability, remediation success and reduction of manual toil.
- Define and enforce reliability, observability and security standards across infrastructure, CI/CD and platform services, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, resilience testing, incident management, access controls, secrets, encryption, vulnerability management and software supply-chain security.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance and IT to establish platform guardrails, risk controls, audit evidence and ownership boundaries, and represent platform performance, risks, investment needs and progress in executive discussions.
Who you are
- You have 10+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering or SRE, including strong production experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, distributed systems and high-availability environments.
- You have 5+ years of experience leading platform or DevOps teams and have introduced AI-assisted engineering practices across a technical organisation.
- You have advanced practical experience using Cursor Agent, Cursor CLI and Cloud Agents to design, implement, test, review and document infrastructure, platform services, operational tooling and automation.
- You have used Cursor AI with Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, policy-as-code, configuration management and platform repositories while maintaining testing, peer-review and controlled-change requirements.
- You have integrated Cursor CLI or Cloud Agents into CI/CD workflows for code review, test generation, configuration validation, security checks, documentation, refactoring and pipeline-failure remediation.
- You can use Cursor AI to analyse telemetry and operational code, improve runbooks, investigate incidents, generate remediation changes and develop controlled self-healing mechanisms with verification and rollback.
- You can coach engineers in effective Cursor workflows and measure adoption through delivery lead time, change-failure rate, automation coverage, operational toil, remediation quality and developer satisfaction.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
