Full-Stack Engineer GEOINT

Company

Orcrist builds the Orcrist Intelligence Platform (OIP), a Kubernetes-based data intelligence system delivered as SaaS or self-hosted/on-prem (including air-gapped deployments). We turn complex, multi-modal data into actionable intelligence for defense, law-enforcement, and enterprise teams.

Role

Build map and spatial analytics features used by mission teams. You’ll develop TypeScript/Python services, deliver 2D/3D UX, and ensure offline-ready experiences across connected and disconnected environments.

What you'll do

  • Ship React/TypeScript map workspace features (layers, annotations, timelines, overlays).
  • Build APIs integrating PostGIS, geoprocessing services, and vector/3D tiles.
  • Optimize performance for large datasets and offline workflows (tiling, caching, packaging).
  • Instrument telemetry, tests, and join on-call rotations for spatial services.
  • Collaborate with designers, analysts, and data engineers to iterate quickly on user feedback.

About you

  • 3–7 years building geospatial or visualization-heavy full-stack applications.
  • Strong TypeScript/React, Node.js or Python, and experience with Mapbox/MapLibre/Cesium.
  • Understanding of geospatial formats, projections, and performance optimization.
  • Eligible to work in Germany; EU/NATO citizenship and security screening required.

Nice-to-haves

  • German language (B1+)
  • Experience with offline sync, deck.gl, or NATO symbology.

What We Offer

  • Modern stack: TypeScript/Next.js/React, Node, Kafka/Temporal, Postgres/OpenSearch, Kubernetes.
  • Remote-first in Germany with regular Berlin prototyping sprints, 30 days vacation, equipment & learning budget.
  • High-impact work: your prototypes shape what becomes product across multiple delivery teams.
