About Darkroom

Darkroom is the leading next-generation growth marketing firm engineering the brands of tomorrow. Founded in 2017, we set out to redefine what a modern agency could be, by replacing the inertia of legacy advertising behemoths with a model built for speed, intelligence, and measurable impact.

At our core, Darkroom is a human services company powered by Shadow, a universal AI commerce layer that integrates executive-level strategy with proprietary agentic technology. This fusion enables our teams to deliver outsized returns by enhancing creative output, operational efficiency, and revenue generation across every stage of the customer journey.

Our track record speaks for itself: billions in attributable revenue driven across e-commerce marketplaces, media networks, DTC ecosystems, and social commerce platforms. Every engagement feeds into our proprietary data infrastructure, enabling a continuous feedback loop that accelerates growth, improves margins, and compounds results across our client portfolio.

What began as a boutique design studio has evolved into one of the fastest-growing private companies in America (Inc. 5000) and among the most effective performance media agencies of the 2020s (Varos). Our founders were recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 for advancing the intersection of technology, marketing, and advertising, cementing Darkroom’s role as a defining player in the future of media innovation.

About the Role

Darkroom is looking for a Senior Designer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into brand, performance, and product design. We’re looking for more than just execution, we’re looking for perspective. You ask smart questions, push creative thinking, and know how to bring ideas to life in a way that’s both strategic and visually sharp.

This role is for someone confident leading creative projects across a range of deliverables, from landing pages and retention flows to paid ads and digital branding, while staying grounded in strategy and results.

You’ll work closely with Retention Managers, Developers, and Designers to deliver polished work that balances brand and performance. You’ll lead initiatives independently while collaborating often, and communicate directly with clients, presenting designs, leading workshops, and managing approvals.

You’ll report to our Director of Creative and work directly with fast-growing brands where the stakes and opportunities are high. This role is designed for someone ready to take on more ownership, broaden their skills across disciplines, and grow quickly within a team that values both creativity and clarity.

This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST time zone.

What You’ll Do

  • Design digital assets that support a range of client marketing initiatives briefed by a Marketing Manager: paid ads, email & SMS, landing pages, organic social, Amazon creative, and more.

  • Create design systems based on a client’s brand guidelines to be used across multiple channels, ensuring consistency of a client’s brand identity, look, and feel.

  • Communicate with clients directly and present designs on calls, lead clients through workshopping, and obtain approvals while maintaining a strong working relationship.

  • Develop a deep understanding of what factors drive customers to convert on different marketing channels and execute designs within established best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with team members and clients for feedback and approvals to ensure your work adheres to a high standard of craft.

  • Design landing pages within Figma by using UI/UX best practices and adhering to Darkroom’s web design guidelines.

  • Collaborate with project managers and developers to deliver web design initiatives such as landing pages, web design updates, and more.

  • This role is on the Creative team and reports to the Design Director. You’ll work alongside a team of 8+ Designers, each supporting their own roster of 5+ client accounts.

Requirements

Hard Skills:

  • 3+ years of proven design work experience (agency or design studio experience is preferred)

  • Digital portfolio that demonstrates strong branding & identity, visual design, marketing design, and/or web design.

  • Proven understanding of design principles including layout, hierarchy, color theory, typography, and composition.

  • Strong ability to lead client calls, drive workshopping sessions, and manage a client relationship directly.

  • Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite is required.

  • Fluency in English is required. Candidate must be proficient in speaking, writing, and presenting work to clients in English.

Soft Skills:

  • Highly creative individual who strives for detail-oriented design and can execute comfortably in a number of styles.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and turn project requirements into compelling designs.

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for detail-oriented deliverables.

  • Systematic thinker, who problem solves and time manages without heavy direction.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

  • BFA or higher degree in Graphic Design or Fine Arts
