About the Role

We're hiring a Field CTO to be the most trusted technical voice in our company, the leader our customers call when the stakes are highest and the executive our field rallies behind when complex deals demand vision. This role blends strategic technical leadership with hands-on customer impact, spanning the full lifecycle from first conversation through enterprise-wide adoption.

If you've ever wanted a mandate to shape how customers architect, govern, and scale on the Salesforce platform, while influencing product direction and elevating the technical bar across an entire go-to-market organization, this is that role.

What You'll Own

  • Serve as the senior-most technical authority in the field, partnering with CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and Salesforce Centers of Excellence at Fortune 500 customers.
  • Shape and execute our technical field strategy across discovery, architecture, validation, and executive alignment.
  • Drive adoption and time-to-value across the customer lifecycle, ensuring every deployment translates into measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead executive business reviews, governance frameworks, and technical roadmap conversations that turn customers into long-term champions.
  • Influence renewal and expansion outcomes by identifying adoption gaps, removing friction, and architecting paths to enterprise-wide rollout.
  • Build repeatable technical playbooks for discovery, validation, enablement, and value realization.
  • Act as the loudest voice of the customer with Product and Engineering, translating field insight into roadmap influence.
  • Represent the company externally through keynotes, analyst briefings, Dreamforce sessions, executive roundtables, and thought leadership.
  • Mentor and elevate technical talent across the organization, raising the bar for craft, customer empathy, and commercial acumen.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • 15+ years in enterprise software with deep experience in the Salesforce ecosystem (DevOps, release management, data, security, or governance strongly preferred).
  • A track record of operating as a senior technical leader or advisor in high-stakes enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on technical credibility, you can whiteboard a CI/CD pipeline, reason about org architecture, and debate metadata strategy with the best architects in the room.
  • Executive presence and storytelling ability that earns trust from technical buyers and C-suite economic buyers alike.
  • A bias for outcomes over activity, with metrics-driven instincts around pipeline conversion, time-to-value, adoption, NRR, and gross retention.
  • Experience in high-growth environments where playbooks are built, not inherited.
  • Salesforce certifications and DevOps fluency (Git, branching strategies, automated testing, deployment automation) are a strong plus.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a behind-the-scenes architect role and it is not a traditional advisory seat. It's a chance to be the technical face of a category-defining company, to shape how the world's largest Salesforce customers build and scale, and to leave a fingerprint on both the product and the market.

You'll be measured on the outcomes that matter, customer success, revenue impact, and durable technical influence, with the executive partnership and resources to do the best work of your career.
