About the Role
Anju Software is looking for a Data Curation Analyst to support the Journal Selector and Conference Authority product. This role focuses on the day-to-day rigorous curation work this product depends on: maintaining, reviewing, and updating the underlying data so the tools stay accurate and useful for researchers and institutions. What You'll Do You'll review and update journal and conference records to keep them current and accurate, checking for changes in scope, publisher, indexing status, and other metadata that affects how a journal or conference is classified. You'll research new and existing journals and conferences to confirm details like publisher information, subject classification, and authority status, using primary sources and established verification processes. You'll process incoming data change requests and corrections, following documented curation standards so updates stay consistent across the dataset. You'll flag anomalies, duplicates, or unclear cases to the appropriate team member rather than making unilateral product or policy decisions. You'll maintain clear documentation of curation decisions and changes made, so the reasoning behind updates is traceable. You'll coordinate with colleagues in India based time zones on shared curation queues, handoffs, and questions that come up during their working hours, which will require some meetings outside standard Eastern Time hours.
Qualifications: What We're Looking For
This is an entry level position with 0 - 2 years of experience in data curation, editorial review, cataloging, library science, or a similar detail focused research or data quality role. You're comfortable working independently with large datasets and following defined workflows and standards without needing constant oversight.
You have strong attention to detail and can spot inconsistencies or errors in data that others might miss. You're comfortable doing research to verify facts about publishers, journals, or conferences using primary and secondary sources.
You're genuinely curious about the material you work with, and that curiosity shows up as follow through: when something doesn't add up, you dig until you understand why instead of taking it at face value. You hold yourself to a high standard for accuracy on every record, and you get real satisfaction in work that is precise, consistent, and complete.
You’re fluent and curious around utilizing AI tools to improve your day-to-day productivity, balancing speed of output with strong data quality and attention to detail.
You have a continuous improvement mindset and you’re eager to work with the automation team to look for opportunities to continue improving these curation processes and reduce manual/administrative burdens.
Experience with scholarly publishing, academic journals, or bibliographic databases is a plus but not required.
