ABOUT EVERYDAY DOSE

Everyday Dose is a functional coffee company on a mission to help people feel better, think clearer, and perform at their best, without the crash that comes with regular coffee. We're a fast-growing, nine-figure D2C brand with a loyal, high-retention subscriber base, and we're scaling our retention function to match our ambitions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Senior Retention Manager to own execution of our retention roadmap. This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Retention. We need an operator who can step in and run point on our onboarding, loyalty and lifecycle retention initiatives end to end: scoping the work, briefing and building the tactics, analyzing the results, and iterating fast.

This is an individual contributor role and we're looking for someone with the judgment, initiative, and marketing instincts to bring ideas to life on their own, not just execute a pre-built plan. You'll partner closely with your manager on strategy and prioritization, but you'll be the one driving initiatives from concept to shipped, measured impact. This role is fully remote, with a hybrid option available for candidates based in Austin, TX.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

You'll take primary ownership of three core pillars of our Q3 retention roadmap:

  • Onboarding:  Finalizing and scaling onboarding initiatives that shape the first 30-60 days of the subscriber journey, including personalized content, dosing and usage education, and flexible product/plan options that reduce early churn.
  • Retention:  Building and improving the programs that keep subscribers engaged and reduce churn from month 2 onward, including loyalty and rewards, cross-selling, plan upgrades, dunning flows, and cancel flow optimization.
  • Conversion: Nurture our CRM leads into new subscribers, working cross-functionally with growth teams. Manage our email agency to brief, optimize and send campaigns and flows, in order to drive new subscribers from leads.

You'll also work cross-functionally with product, brand, and CX as initiatives require.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Run the roadmap:  Take initiatives from 0 to 1: scope the problem, build the plan, get buy-in from stakeholders, and drive execution without needing to be told the next step.
  • Brief and build:  Write comms briefs and build/execute lifecycle campaigns yourself in Klaviyo (email and SMS), from founder notes to win-back sequences to onboarding flows.
  • Analyze:  Dig into subscriber, cohort, and churn data to find the story behind the numbers, size opportunities, and validate what's actually working.
  • Leverage AI:  Use AI tools to move faster across research, analysis, drafting, and QA, and bring that speed to the rest of the team.
  • Test rigorously:  Design and read A/B tests correctly, and turn results into clear recommendations and next steps.
  • Project manage:  Navigate a fast-moving startup org, get the right people aligned, and keep initiatives moving even when priorities shift.
  • Own outcomes:  Track the metrics that matter (repurchase rate, churn, LTV, recovery rate) and report clearly on progress and impact.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  •  You've worked in D2C ecommerce, ideally in wellness, health, or a subscription business, and you understand the mechanics of a subscriber lifecycle.
  •  You default to structured thinking, you're comfortable in data, and you use evidence, not just instinct, to make the case for an idea.
  •  You use AI tools daily to accelerate your work and impact on the business.
  •  You can write or brief comms that sound like a real person and convert, and you know when to loop in a copywriter versus write it yourself.
  •  You’re detail-oriented and make sure things get done the right way.
  •  You don't wait for a solution to come to you. You take an ambiguous problem, figure out the path, and get it shipped.
  •  You've project-managed cross-functional initiatives and know how to build alignment without a lot of formal authority.
  •  You want ownership, you want to build something, and you're energized by a startup pace rather than drained by it.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Klaviyo, Skio, Superfiliate, Northbeam, or similar retention/lifecycle tooling.
  • Familiarity with subscription mechanics: dunning, involuntary churn, cancel flow design, win-back economics.
  • Experience running or reading A/B tests.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within your first two quarters, you've taken full ownership of the onboarding and retention pillars, scaled multiple successful initiatives to 100%, and moved key metrics (repurchase rate, churn, recovery rate) in a measurable, attributable way, without needing your manager to drive the day-to-day.
