About the role:
Health-E Commerce is rapidly scaling Patiently, its owned digital health and telehealth business, across multiple conditions and distribution channels.
We are looking for a Director of Digital Health, Commercial Strategy to serve as a senior commercial operator for Patiently. Reporting to the Chief Digital Health Officer, this leader will drive Patiently's performance across acquisition, conversion, and retention — translating business strategy and P&L plans into focused commercial priorities and ensuring cross-functional teams deliver against them. The right candidate combines strong commercial judgment, deep understanding of digital consumer growth, and analytical rigor, with the ability to lead across functions without directly managing every resource required to deliver the outcome.
This person will work closely with Patiently Marketing, Product, Data & Analytics, Site/UX, Customer Experience, Finance, and Operations to identify growth constraints, prioritize the highest-impact opportunities, and build a repeatable commercial operating system as Patiently scales across conditions.
Key responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Performance
- Own the commercial operating plan across acquisition, conversion, and retention, ensuring Patiently performance is tracking against revenue and P&L goals.
- Translate company and Digital Health strategy into measurable commercial priorities, KPIs, initiatives, and investment decisions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the drivers of Patiently performance, including traffic, CAC, conversion, AOV, retention, LTV, contribution margin, and cohort economics.
- Identify gaps to plan, diagnose root causes, and drive clear cross-functional action plans to close them.
- Partner with Patiently Operations, Finance and Analytics on forecasting, scenario planning, unit economics, and commercial business cases.
Experimentation & Growth Operating System
- Develop and maintain a prioritized experimentation roadmap across Marketing, Product, Site, and Customer Experience.
- Turn performance data and customer insights into clear hypotheses, tests, and investment decisions.
- Establish disciplined mechanisms for determining what to scale, iterate, or stop.
- Evaluate initiatives based on incremental commercial impact, not simply activity or delivery.
- Build reporting and operating cadences that surface risks early and focus leadership attention on the highest-value opportunities.
Cross-Functional Business Leadership
- Serve as a senior commercial-side counterpart to Patiently Operations, Marketing and Product leadership.
- Create alignment across teams that may not directly report into Digital Health but are dedicated to delivering Patiently outcomes.
- Drive decisions across competing priorities and functional dependencies without becoming a project-management layer.
- Surface the handful of issues requiring executive intervention while independently driving routine commercial decisions to resolution.
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 7–12+ years of experience across commercial strategy, growth, general management, strategy & operations, business operations, growth product, or related roles in a consumer-oriented business.
- Demonstrated accountability for revenue, growth, unit economics, or P&L performance, rather than solely supporting functional or project delivery.
- Strong understanding of digital consumer-growth fundamentals, including CAC, LTV, conversion, retention, cohort economics, pricing, and experimentation.
- Working fluency across paid acquisition, CRM/lifecycle, CRO, digital product funnels, and analytics; you do not need to be the channel practitioner, but you must be able to effectively challenge and partner with functional experts.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives across Marketing, Product, Data, Site/UX, Finance, Customer Experience, and Operations.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability, with a track record of moving from data → diagnosis → prioritized action.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to distinguish the few drivers that materially affect business outcomes from lower-value activity.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior functional leaders and drive accountability without relying on direct authority.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where the business, product, and operating model are still evolving.
Particularly relevant experience - Digital health/telehealth, DTC subscription, consumer marketplaces, high-growth e-commerce, or membership/recurring-revenue businesses.
