Head of Enterprise IT
We are hiring a Head of Enterprise IT for our client — a fast-growing tech company expanding from its existing cloud/gaming infrastructure business into a large-scale AI data center build in Poland, with its first 50MW+ phase going live this year.
Role description
The Head of Enterprise IT will own and build from the ground up the company's internal IT infrastructure — the systems, networks, and tools that run the business itself, separate from the customer-facing production platform. There is currently no dedicated internal Enterprise IT team in place for this project; this role is expected to establish the function and the team (sysadmins, network engineers, security specialists) essentially from zero, at a scale and level of ownership comparable to running enterprise IT for a modern, international, technically demanding organization — not just administering support or operations within an existing setup. This role ensures employees across all offices and locations have secure, reliable access to corporate systems and hardware, manages the Enterprise IT budget and vendor relationships, and coordinates with the CTO where corporate systems intersect with the production platform (e.g., billing, monitoring).
Responsibilities
Own and build the entire internal company IT infrastructure from scratch — not just operate or support an existing one
Establish IAM, network security, and VPN infrastructure for a distributed, multi-office organization
Set up office networks, employee access, and corporate hardware/software provisioning
Build and scale a helpdesk/IT support function as part of the broader Enterprise IT ownership — not as the primary or sole focus of the role
Own security policies for internal systems (separate from production DC security)
Manage the Enterprise IT budget and vendor/SaaS relationships from the ground up
Ensure GDPR compliance and internal data protection controls
Coordinate with the CTO on integration between corporate systems and the production platform (e.g., billing, monitoring)
Where relevant, oversee corporate systems such as ERP, CRM, HRMS, and collaboration tools (Slack/Google Workspace/Jira)
Must-have
3+ years of experience in IT management, with 3+ years in a leadership/Head of IT role
Direct experience with data center or comparable critical infrastructure environments — hands-on ownership, not just adjacent corporate IT
Demonstrated experience building a modern Enterprise IT function from scratch at an international scale (multiple offices/countries) — full ownership of the function, not primarily an IT Operations/Helpdesk/support role
Hands-on experience with IAM, network security, and VPN infrastructure
Experience managing IT budgets and vendor/SaaS contract negotiations
Working knowledge of GDPR and internal data compliance requirements
English proficiency sufficient for international vendor and stakeholder communication
Nice-to-have
Experience managing enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRMS) end-to-end
Experience building or scaling a helpdesk/support function
Familiarity with integrating corporate systems with production/billing platforms
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, ISO 27001, CISSP, CompTIA Security+)
Polish and/or Ukrainian language skills
Stack: IAM, Network Security, VPN, ISO 27001, GDPR, Azure/Cloud, Data Center Infrastructure, ITSM/Helpdesk tooling
