ABOUT BESTOW
Life insurance is one of the world's most important products. It's also one of the hardest to build, distribute, and modernize. Bestow exists to change that.
Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform serving some of the largest and most innovative life insurers. Our platform unifies the fragmented, legacy value chain, enabling carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years. Carriers choose us to scale and operate at unprecedented speed, powered by AI and automation.
Bestow isn't selling policies. We're building the infrastructure that helps an entire industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise.
Backed by leading investors (Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, 8VC) and trusted by major carriers, Bestow is powered by a team that moves with precision, purpose, and heart. If you want to help reimagine a centuries-old industry with lasting impact, join us.
Bestow offers flexible remote/hybrid work, meaningful benefits, equity, and substantial growth opportunities.
Bestow uses E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. To learn more about E-Verify, including your rights and responsibilities, please visit E-Verify.gov.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The IPC Engineering team owns the custom implementation layer that powers Bestow's carrier and enterprise partner onboarding. We build the integrations, data mappings, and tailored experiences that bring each new partner live on the Bestow platform. We work across the full stack with a lean toward integration surfaces to deliver the end-to-end partner journey from configuration through launch. The team operates in a high-accountability domain where no two implementations are alike, and shipping means a carrier goes live.
Within Bestow Engineering, our major functional teams are product engineering, infrastructure, IT, data and analytics, mar-tech, and program management. IPC team works closely with Implementation Management, Technical Program Management, and platform engineering teams to translate partner requirements into production-ready solutions. We partner directly with carrier stakeholders, business systems analysts, and products to define scope and drive delivery.
This role reports to our Engineering Manager and is open to Remote (US).

ABOUT THE ROLE
The right candidate for this role will:
Lead frontend and fullstack implementation workstreams for carrier and enterprise partner integrations, owning the architecture and delivery of complex, partner-specific experiences from kickoff through production
Architect and implement scalable UI layers and API integrations, setting patterns for partner-facing surfaces that can be reused and extended across future implementations
Author high-quality RFCs with little guidance — identifying opportunities to turn one-off partner work into reusable, maintainable patterns that reduce build time for every implementation that follows
Partner with Implementation Managers, Business Systems Analysts, and TPMs to translate business requirements into well-scoped, actionable technical plans
Provide technical leadership in code reviews, delivering substantive architectural feedback that raises the quality bar across the team
Champion a consumer-first mindset — designing integrations that are intuitive for partner users and maintainable for the next engineer who touches the code
Champion engineering excellence through comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage for all partner deliverables
Foster a security-first mindset within the team, identifying non-compliant code and ensuring reviewed contributions meet security requirements
Define AI coding tool standards and best practices for the vertical, balancing productivity gains with quality guardrails and measuring effectiveness over time
YOUR EXPERIENCE
5+ years of professional software development experience with significant depth in React and TypeScript
Strong fullstack capability with professional experience in Go or Python
Understanding of GraphQL architecture, including schema design, performance optimization, resolver patterns, and the ability to guide architectural decisions around API design
Demonstrated ability to lead complex implementation projects end-to-end, including scoping, RFC authorship, and delivery with cross-functional partners
Experience designing and consuming gRPC/REST APIs and building reliable integration layers between systems
Proven track record of delivering accessible, performant, and production-ready frontend solutions that balance technical quality with delivery timelines
Experience with modern frontend tooling including component libraries, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting technical topics and tradeoff decisions to engineering directors, implementation managers, and non-technical business stakeholders
Peer feedback that demonstrates this person is highly looked up to technically and as a collaborator
Experience with distributed systems or microservices preferred
Advocate for Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and incremental software delivery
Familiarity with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and the ability to evaluate AI-generated code critically for security, maintainability, and architectural alignment. Not just speed.
