About Polymarket
Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.
We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.
About the Role
Polymarket is looking for a US Control Desk Operator / Analyst to sit at the intersection of market operations, risk oversight, compliance, and technology — serving as a critical first line of defense for our CFTC-regulated Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) and Designated Contract Market (DCM). This is a shift-based role running 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, supporting one of the most dynamic 24/7 trading platforms in the industry.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CFTC regulatory frameworks, but more importantly, brings a relentless roll-up-your-sleeves mentality. We need someone who can flawlessly execute manual operational tasks today while working with our engineers to automate them for tomorrow. This role reports directly to the Head of Regulatory Operations.
What You'll Do
Execute critical, time-sensitive manual workflows including resolving trading instruments when automated data providers (oracles) fail and performing manual ledger reconciliations
Action, review, and reconcile daily transactions — ACH deposits, wire transfers, and withdrawals — ensuring proper flow of funds
Process manual KYC/KYB applications that trigger heightened risk flags; conduct deep-dive AML research on user profiles to prevent fraud
Serve as the investigative backbone for the CX team — research transaction logs, data feeds, and contract specifications to resolve user disputes
Identify process inefficiencies, draft clear technical specifications, and partner with engineers to automate repetitive workflows
Critically evaluate existing SOPs and speak up when a policy or process doesn't make sense or could be optimized
Maintain real-time communication across the Control Desk, developers, external data vendors, and senior management including Legal and Compliance
Monitor compliance with rules governing FCMs and intermediaries; stay current on CFTC regulations, guidance, and enforcement trends to support internal policy and surveillance frameworks
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree required
3+ years of direct experience in clearing, settlement, reconciliation, or financial operations with hands-on break resolution as a core part of the role
Demonstrated familiarity with CFTC regulations, particularly Part 38 (DCM) and Part 39 (DCO), as well as FCM/intermediary oversight
Strong working knowledge of KYC, KYB, AML, and fraud prevention workflows including manual adjudication of high-risk or escalated cases
Proven track record with ACH, wire transfers, and withdrawal processing in a regulated or high-volume environment
Familiarity with technical concepts (APIs, SQL, databases) to effectively translate operational needs into engineering specs
Strong attention to detail under time pressure — you catch things others miss, consistently, when the stakes are real
Ability to write clear, precise process documentation and technical specifications that engineers can actually act on
Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where processes are still being built and ambiguity is the norm
(Plus) Experience at a fintech, crypto exchange, or prediction market platform
(Plus) Familiarity with stablecoin or on-chain settlement mechanics
(Plus) Prior experience partnering with engineering teams to scope and ship operational automations
(Plus) SQL or basic scripting ability to pull data and investigate discrepancies independently
