The listing
We currently have a vacancy for a Power BI Developer in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be remotely within EU. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Tasks:
- Analyze functional and technical designs prepared by the project team;
- Propose a data storytelling and UX design approach with consistent visuals to improve the user experience;
- Review existing reports, propose and implement enhancements;
- Prepare mockups and/or prototypes of the requested dashboards and report, present these to business owners and end-users to gather their feedback;
- Organize dashboards and reports so that the most important data (notably KPIs) are immediately visible (the "at-a-glance" principle) and navigation between them is intuitive;
- Design a SharePoint site to provide a consolidated view of the dataset catalogue, dashboards and reports and other DWH resources;
- Support automation initiatives based on DWH datasets, reports and dashboards, to increase efficiency;
- Collaborate and support other DTS staff and consultants (Power Platform, Azure, SharePoint) on the integration of DWH Power BI reports with other solutions.
Requirements
- Relevant University degree (i.e. Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.) with significant coursework in Graphic Design, Communication, or Marketing Analytics;
- Minimum of five years of experience in UI/UX design and the implementation of high-quality dashboards;
- Data Storytelling & UX Design: The ability to translate complex data into a coherent narrative. Understand how to organize dashboards so that the most important KPIs are immediately;
- DAX Proficiency (Calculated Measures): Even if the datasets are ready, advanced DAX will be needed to create dynamic, user friendly measures (like year-over-year growth, moving averages, or conditional formatting logic) that drive the visuals;
- Ability to apply Power BI visual best practices, including selecting appropriate visuals and avoiding unnecessary or distracting elements;
- Customization & Formatting: Expert knowledge of the "Format" pane, themes, color palettes for accessibility (color-blind friendliness), and interaction settings (drill-throughs, bookmarks, and slicer synchronization);
- Dashboard Navigation: Building intuitive interfaces using buttons, navigation bars, and landing pages (i.e. SharePoint pages) to make the reports and dashboards feel like an application rather than separate items;
- Certification required: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent;
- Other professional certifications in design/data storytelling, UI/UX design or human-computer interaction (HCI), Power BI, Azure SQL are valuable;
- Excellent command of the English language.
