The listing
We are seeking a Residential Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for medium-density and volume residential projects. The role will handle quantity take-offs, supplier and subcontractor pricing, purchase orders, variations, and estimating documentation while working closely with drafting, development, and construction teams.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs from architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Prepare estimates covering labour, materials, subcontractors, and construction costs.
- Review plans and documentation to identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and cost risks.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor quotations, including requests, reviews, follow-ups, and pricing clarification.
- Maintain accurate estimating data, rates, quotations, and project records using Databuild.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, variations, and estimate revisions in line with approved project requirements.
- Collaborate with drafting, development, construction, and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and well-documented estimates.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Residential Construction Estimator, particularly in medium-density or volume-building projects.
- Hands-on experience with quantity take-offs, estimating, supplier quotations, and purchase orders.
- Strong working knowledge of Databuild is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, drawings, specifications, and sequencing.
- Proficiency in Planswift or other similar estimating software
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
