The listing

Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.

We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

We're looking for a Supply Chain Lead to drive our expansion in China. As our founding team member in the market, you'll work closely with both co-founders to launch and manage local operations. We want an exceptional, first-principles operator with deep technical acumen who can architect our supplier and purchasing footprint and negotiate directly with top-tier OEMs, ODMs and hardware manufacturers to secure our global supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of our supply chain development and management in China, building the function from 0 to 1 and keeping it aligned with our global business
  • Drive localised New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles from concept to mass production, owning the RFQ process end to end
  • Develop and manage our strategic supplier and purchasing footprint in China, securing critical factory capacity and driving BOM optimisation with top-tier partners
  • Drive hands-on quality enforcement and performance tracking across multiple external factories, deeply auditing partner production lines
  • Partner closely with the co-founders, finance and R&D teams to ensure smooth regional execution and integration with our global business
  • Serve as the real-time communication interface between Chinese technical and manufacturing ecosystems and our UK teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline from a top-tier university
  • Proven track record in procurement or strategic sourcing within the clean-tech ecosystem or a parallel technical hardware industry (e.g. electric vehicles, advanced electronics, semiconductors)
  • Experience managing contract manufacturer (OEM) or design house (ODM) relationships, including capacity negotiation and accountability
  • Strong understanding across both electrical and mechanical components, specifically PCBAs, power electronics or battery packs/systems
  • Ability to enforce stringent quality standards and consistently deliver under compressed timelines
  • A relentless, first-principles approach to solving ambiguous problems
  • Written and verbal fluency in both English and Mandarin
  • Proficient in Excel, comfortable with formulas, pivot tables and multi-tab workbooks, able to build cost breakdowns and supplier comparison summaries
  • Ability to work well individually or in a team

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and eligibility for equity
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
  • Private health insurance
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees

As we hire globally, benefits vary by location.
