The listing
ProArch is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for enterprise storage environments. The primary focus of this role will be automating storage pool monitoring, alerting, and operational actions across production environments, ensuring high availability, operational efficiency, and proactive issue resolution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python development, storage automation, IBM DS8K and VTS storage platforms, and z/OS environments. This role requires strong scripting expertise, automation mindset, and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and operations teams to streamline storage management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for enterprise storage infrastructure and production environments.
- Build automated monitoring, alerting, and remediation workflows for storage pools and storage-related operations.
- Develop Python-based tools and utilities to improve storage administration, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
- Automate routine storage management tasks across IBM DS8K and VTS storage platforms.
- Create automation frameworks for capacity monitoring, performance analysis, health checks, and operational reporting.
- Develop and maintain integrations between storage systems and enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Support automation initiatives within z/OS environments using Python and REXX scripting.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of storage-related incidents and performance issues.
- Maintain source code repositories, version control processes, and deployment pipelines using Git and Jenkins.
- Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials for developed solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to automation frameworks, workflows, and storage management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Python scripting and automation development.
- Proven experience in storage automation and enterprise storage management environments.
- Experience developing automation solutions for IBM DS8K and VTS storage platforms.
- Hands-on experience with REXX/JCL
- Strong experience with Python development for storage administration and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Python automation in z/OS environments.
- Hands-on experience with REXX scripting and automation.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins.
