The Workday Practice
Alpha’s Workday Practice sits within MCO and specializes in Workday implementation, optimization, solution health assessments, release readiness, and Application Management Services (AMS). The practice works closely with Alpha’s broader advisory, data, and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and provide continuity from strategy and design through implementation and ongoing support.
The Role
Serve as a core functional delivery resource responsible for configuration, testing, data support, and documentation across assigned Workday Financials modules. The Senior Consultant works closely with functional leads and client teams to translate approved designs into a high-quality configured solution.
What You’ll Do
- Hands-on Configuration: Own day-to-day tenant configuration and business process setup within assigned modules such as General Ledger, Procure-to-Pay, Expenses, Projects, Billing, Accounting Center, or related Financials capabilities.
- Discovery & Design Support: Participate in discovery and design workshops, document requirements and decisions, and support functional leads in translating requirements into configuration.
- Testing & Defect Resolution: Execute unit and system testing, identify system gaps, document issues, troubleshoot configuration defects, and support resolution through retesting.
- Data Conversion: Prepare, map, validate, and load data using Workday-supported data-loading tools and templates; support reconciliation and conversion-cycle validation.
- Documentation: Develop configuration workbooks, design documentation, test scripts, process documentation, and other functional deliverables.
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with client SMEs and project teams to validate requirements, demonstrate configuration, support testing, and resolve day-to-day questions.
- Delivery Coordination: Manage assigned tasks and deadlines, raise risks and dependencies promptly, and coordinate with technical, data, reporting, and security resources.
- Continuous Development: Maintain current knowledge of Workday releases and module capabilities and contribute reusable configuration patterns and lessons learned.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience with at least two full-lifecycle deployments.
- Strong practical configuration, testing, data manipulation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in one or more Financials specialties such as General Ledger, Procure-to-Pay, Projects, Expenses, Billing, Accounting Center, or reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with functional leads and client stakeholders.
Workday Certifications
- Active Workday Financial Management / Financials Core certification.
- Relevant module specialty certifications such as Procure-to-Pay, Projects, Accounting Center, Expenses, or Reporting are preferred.
Location & Travel
This position is US-based and primarily remote. Occasional travel to client sites and Alpha offices may be required based on project needs, key implementation milestones, and team collaboration.

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $100,000 – $130,000 USD, subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
