The Role
Gametime's Payments & Checkout team owns everything that happens between ticket selection and a completed transaction — checkout flow, payment methods, vendor relationships, and the infrastructure behind every dollar we process. This PM will own the roadmap for growing conversion and authorization performance while managing fraud exposure and the economics of how we accept payments, partnering closely with our BNPL, processing, and wallet vendors to expand what we offer fans and merchants alike.
This role is open to various levels/ titles — Senior Product Manager, Staff Product Manager, or Principal Product Manager — we're hiring for the right person and scope, not a fixed level.
What You'll Own
- Checkout conversion: identify and eliminate friction across the payment flow, and run experimentation to lift completion rates
- Payment authorization rates: partner with processors and networks to reduce declines and recover failed transactions
- BNPL adoption: grow usage and expand the mix of buy-now-pay-later and alternative payment methods offered at checkout
- Fraud and risk trade-offs: balance conversion growth against fraud exposure, working with risk tooling and rules to protect margin without adding friction
- Vendor strategy: manage and evaluate payment processors, BNPL providers, and wallet partners to improve terms, performance, and total cost of acceptance
- Cost of payments: drive down the blended cost of accepting transactions as volume and AOV grow
- A roadmap tied directly to transaction growth, AOV, and payments cost efficiency
What We're Looking For
Common bar:
- A track record of shipping product changes that moved measurable business outcomes
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills — you'll work closely with engineering, design, and data day-to-day
- Comfort operating at whatever level you're hired into, from hands-on execution to setting multi-quarter strategy
Domain-specific:
- Experience owning payments, checkout, or fraud/risk in a consumer marketplace, fintech, or high-volume e-commerce environment
- Familiarity with the mechanics of authorization, processing, and payment routing, and how they connect to conversion and cost
- Experience managing vendor and processor relationships, including negotiating terms and evaluating new partners
- A data-driven approach — comfort working with SQL/analytics to diagnose funnel and payment performance issues
