The listing

About Us
Ottimate is an AI-powered AP [Accounts Payable] automation platform that empowers finance teams to reduce costs, prevent overpayments, detect fraud, and enforce policy compliance across the entire invoice-to-payment lifecycle.

The Role
The Sage Product Manager is the end-to-end owner of the Sage ecosystem at Ottimate.

You will operate as the “CEO of Sage” within Ottimate, owning the strategy, experience, roadmap, processes, and outcomes associated with one of the most important ERP ecosystems in our business. Your responsibility extends far beyond the technical integration itself. You will be accountable for how Ottimate positions Sage externally, how we sell and onboard Sage customers, how our integration behaves, how customers use Ottimate alongside Sage, and where we invest to make that experience better.

Sage is a critical ERP ecosystem for Ottimate, and this role requires a deep understanding of both Sage—particularly Sage Intacct—and the Ottimate platform. You will develop that expertise to understand not only what each platform can do independently, but how they should work together to create a best-in-class Accounts Payable experience.

Your ownership spans the entire customer lifecycle: website and go-to-market content, sales enablement, product capabilities, integration reliability, maintenance, new feature development, Technical Onboarding requirements, implementation best practices, internal processes, documentation, customer feedback, and long-term Sage strategy.

You will work across Product, Engineering, Technical Onboarding, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, and Sage ecosystem partners to create a cohesive Sage experience rather than a collection of disconnected features and processes.

Success in this role means making Ottimate the best AP automation platform for Sage customers.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Sage Ecosystem Strategy

    • Serve as the primary owner and internal authority for the Sage ecosystem at Ottimate, with particular depth in Sage Intacct.
    • Develop and maintain a clear strategy for how Ottimate differentiates within the Sage market.
    • Define what a best-in-class Ottimate + Sage experience should look like across the entire customer lifecycle.
    • Understand Sage's product direction, ecosystem, customer needs, technical capabilities, limitations, and competitive landscape.
    • Identify opportunities where Ottimate can create meaningful differentiation for Sage customers.
    • Establish priorities and investment recommendations based on customer impact, revenue opportunity, strategic importance, implementation complexity, and technical health.
    • Represent the Sage business internally and ensure Sage receives the appropriate level of attention across Product and Engineering.

Own the Sage Product Roadmap

    • Own and continuously prioritize the Sage product roadmap across:
      • New integration capabilities
      • Customer-requested enhancements
      • Technical debt
      • API migrations and platform changes
      • Reliability and performance improvements
      • ERP-specific workflow improvements
      • Maintenance and defect reduction
    • Balance new feature development with the ongoing investment required to keep the Sage integration scalable, reliable, and supportable.
    • Translate customer, market, partner, onboarding, and internal feedback into clear product requirements.
    • Develop Product Requirements Documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and supporting documentation for Engineering.
    • Partner closely with Engineering throughout discovery, design, development, testing, release, and post-release evaluation.
    • Ensure features solve the underlying customer problem rather than simply addressing individual feature requests.
    • Maintain visibility into known Sage integration gaps and develop plans to systematically eliminate them.

Own the End-to-End Sage Customer Experience

    • Evaluate the entire Sage customer journey from initial website visit through sales, implementation, adoption, support, expansion, and renewal.
    • Identify friction points and drive cross-functional improvements that make Sage customers easier to sell, onboard, support, and retain.
    • Define the optimal experience for customers using Ottimate with Sage, including:
      • Accounts Payable workflows
      • Purchasing and Procure-to-Pay workflows
      • Invoice creation and synchronization
      • Vendor synchronization
      • Dimensions and accounting structures
      • Multi-entity environments
      • Purchase Orders and receiving
      • Payments
      • Accounting configuration
      • Error handling and reconciliation
    • Continuously evaluate where customers are forced into unnecessary manual processes and develop solutions to eliminate those workflows.
    • Establish measurable customer experience standards for the Sage integration.

Define Technical Onboarding Standards & Best Practices

    • Partner closely with Technical Onboarding to define how Sage customers should be implemented within Ottimate.
    • Establish standardized Sage onboarding requirements, configuration patterns, discovery questions, prerequisites, and implementation processes.
    • Define recommended Sage configurations and best practices that create the strongest experience when using Ottimate.
    • Develop guidance for common and complex Sage environments, including multi-entity organizations, purchasing configurations, dimensions, allocations, payment workflows, and other ERP-specific scenarios.
    • Reduce one-off implementations and Professional Services customizations by turning repeatable customer requirements into standardized product capabilities.
    • Create clear escalation paths for Sage-specific implementation challenges.
    • Continuously improve implementation efficiency, predictability, and time-to-value.

Become the Sage Subject Matter Expert

    • Develop deep functional and technical expertise in Sage, particularly Sage Intacct.
    • Understand Sage APIs, objects, workflows, architecture, configuration options, limitations, and release changes.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Procure-to-Pay, accounting, and financial operations within Sage.
    • Understand the technical architecture of Ottimate's Sage integration, including APIs, data mappings, synchronization processes, authentication, error handling, and integration dependencies.
    • Stay ahead of Sage product releases, API changes, deprecations, new functionality, and ecosystem developments.
    • Proactively identify Sage changes that may create opportunities or risks for Ottimate.
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex Sage product and integration questions across the organization.

Own Sage Product Positioning & External Content

    • Partner with Marketing to ensure Ottimate accurately and effectively represents its Sage capabilities externally.
    • Own the product accuracy and positioning of Sage-related:
      • Website content
      • Integration pages
      • Product documentation
      • Sales collateral
      • Competitive materials
      • Product announcements
      • Demo narratives
      • Help-center content
    • Ensure our external messaging accurately reflects what the product supports while clearly communicating Ottimate's differentiation.
    • Identify capabilities worth highlighting to the Sage market and work with Marketing to turn those capabilities into compelling stories.
    • Help establish Ottimate as a recognized leader in Accounts Payable automation for Sage customers.

Enable Sales, Solutions & Customer-Facing Teams

    • Equip Sales and Solutions teams with the information necessary to accurately position Ottimate to Sage prospects.
    • Establish clear guidance around supported functionality, known limitations, roadmap items, recommended workflows, and qualifying questions.
    • Participate in strategic or technically complex Sage opportunities when Product expertise is required.
    • Develop reusable enablement materials so common Sage questions do not depend on tribal knowledge.
    • Partner with Customer Success and Support to identify recurring customer issues and convert those insights into product improvements.
    • Ensure customer-facing teams understand new Sage functionality before it reaches customers.

Drive Cross-Functional Execution

    • Act as the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Technical Onboarding, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, and Sage partners.
    • Ensure teams are aligned around a common Sage strategy instead of solving Sage-related problems independently.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve the Sage customer experience.
    • Make decisions and drive resolution when ownership crosses organizational boundaries.
    • Maintain clear communication regarding roadmap priorities, product limitations, releases, technical changes, and known issues.
    • Advocate for Sage customers while balancing broader Ottimate platform priorities.

Represent the Voice of the Sage Customer

    • Develop a deep understanding of the needs of Sage customers across different industries, organizational sizes, configurations, and levels of accounting complexity.
    • Regularly engage with customers, prospects, implementation teams, partners, Sales, and Support to identify emerging needs.
    • Analyze recurring support cases, onboarding challenges, feature requests, and implementation exceptions.
    • Separate individual customer requests from broader market needs and identify scalable solutions.
    • Use qualitative and quantitative data to drive prioritization.
    • Create mechanisms for systematically collecting and incorporating Sage customer feedback into the roadmap.

Measure the Health of the Sage Business

    • Define and monitor metrics that demonstrate the health of Ottimate's Sage ecosystem.
    • Partner with Data, Engineering, Customer Success, and other teams to understand:
      • Sage customer growth
      • Revenue and pipeline
      • Win/loss trends
      • Implementation duration
      • Integration errors
      • Support volume
      • Feature adoption
      • Customer retention
      • Product utilization
      • Technical reliability
    • Use these insights to identify the highest-value opportunities for product and operational investment.
