The Senior Controller provides enterprise-level leadership over global accounting operations, ensuring the integrity, scalability, and compliance of financial reporting across all entities. This role owns complex accounting matters, drives accounting policy and control frameworks, and serves as a strategic partner to executive finance leadership. The Senior Controller ensures the organization is audit-ready, supports business growth and expansion, and leads high-impact initiatives that strengthen financial governance and operational excellence. Responsibilities Own and govern all global accounting activities across multi-entity, multi-country operations, ensuring consistent application of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies. Serve as the subject-matter expert for complex accounting areas, including inventory, leases (ASC 842), revenue recognition, and intercompany transactions. Provide technical accounting guidance and review for significant or non-routine transactions, new business models, and market expansions. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated financial statements and statutory reporting. Design, implement, and continuously enhance global accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance frameworks. Lead organization-wide initiatives to strengthen balance sheet integrity, with particular focus on inventory, leases, VAT, and intercompany reconciliations. Oversee global compliance reporting, including VAT, CIT, payroll-related taxes, and statutory obligations, in partnership with Tax and local finance teams. Act as the senior point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and advisors, managing complex audits and ensuring timely resolution of findings. Proactively assess regulatory and accounting changes, driving adoption and compliance across the organization. Lead high-impact accounting and finance transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite), process automation, and system optimization. Drive continuous improvement of close processes, reporting cycles, and data quality to support scalability and speed. Sponsor and oversee cross-functional projects spanning Accounting, AP, Payroll, Procurement, and Business Control. Provide functional leadership and mentorship to Controllers, Finance Managers, and senior accounting professionals across regions. Partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and executive leadership to support strategic decisions, M&A activities, and long-term growth initiatives. Influence financial strategy through expert insight, risk assessment, and governance leadership, without direct ownership of corporate finance strategy. Desired skills and competencies Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred. 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership roles within complex, multinational environments. Deep expertise in GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, audit management, and technical accounting matters. Proven experience leading enterprise-level accounting initiatives and large-scale system implementations (NetSuite or similar ERP highly desirable). Strong understanding of global tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills. Ability to operate independently with broad accountability and limited oversight. Excellent communication and stakeholder-influencing skills at executive and cross-functional levels.
