About Us

HireHawk connects skilled professionals around the world with meaningful remote opportunities at U.S. and Canadian companies. We focus on building dependable, high-performing remote teams where strong communication, ownership, and consistent follow-through are valued. For this opportunity, you will support a solo immigration attorney and play a central role in creating a professional, responsive experience for every client.

About the Role

As an Immigration Legal Assistant, you will provide client-facing and administrative support across a growing immigration law practice focused primarily on family and business immigration matters. You will serve as one of the main points of contact for prospective and existing clients, helping guide them through intake, scheduling, billing orientation, and ongoing communication.

Your work will directly reduce the attorney’s administrative workload, improve the client experience, and help the practice operate more efficiently as it grows. The role is expected to expand over time, making it a strong opportunity for someone who wants long-term ownership and increased responsibility within a legal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Own the client intake process and create a welcoming, professional first impression for prospective clients
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with clients throughout their engagement with the firm
  • Coordinate consultations, appointments, deadlines, and calendar commitments to keep the attorney’s schedule organized
  • Guide new clients through billing procedures and other administrative requirements
  • Maintain accurate client information, records, follow-ups, and internal administrative documentation
  • Support legal workflows for family and business immigration matters while ensuring important details are not missed
  • Anticipate administrative needs and resolve routine client or scheduling issues before they require attorney involvement
  • Help create reliable processes that reduce administrative workload and allow the attorney to focus on legal work
  • Take on broader responsibilities as the practice and client base continue to grow

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Previous professional experience working in a legal environment
  • Experience with an immigration law firm, particularly family and business immigration matters
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confidence handling client intake and serving as a primary client-facing representative of the firm
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage scheduling and administrative workflows reliably
  • Consistent, dependable availability and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting a solo attorney or small law firm
  • Familiarity with immigration case-management or legal practice-management systems
  • Experience supporting billing, payment orientation, or client onboarding processes
