What you will do

  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will lead and grow a team of engineers , owning technical direction plus hiring, growth, and performance for the people on your team who build Sysdig's runtime agent, the software customers install directly in their environments and Sysdog’s the primary data source.

  • You will review designs and code across the team, unblock engineers on the hardest problems, and stay hands-on with the most technically demanding, cross-cutting work yourself.

  • You will partner with product, detection and security research teams to guarantee new functionality into our runtime agent without regressing performance or stability in production.

  • What you will bring with you

  • You have experience leading a team of engineers: hiring, mentoring, and managing performance while staying technical enough to set direction and review the work yourself.
  • You have extensive experience building and operating low-level, performance-critical systems software (C, C++) that runs continuously in production on customer infrastructure as well as working experience with containerized and orchestrated systems (kubernetes, containerd, familiarity with cgroup).
  • You have deep working knowledge of OSs internals and instrumentation techniques such as eBPF or kernel modules. Proficiency on Linux internal is required.
  • You have experience operating distributed systems at scale, including the reliability and performance trade-offs of software that has to run safely on every host or container it touches.
  • What we look for

  • You have experience on managing a distributed team, with experience on planning with a long term roadmap and features that span across different teams.
  • Expertise in Go or Rust will be a plus
  • Experience growing a team through a period of rapid product change.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and/or Mac’s internal is a plus.
  • When you join Sysdig, you can expect

  • Extra days off to prioritize your well-being
  • Mental health support for you and your family through the Modern Health app
  • Great compensation package
  • We would love for you to join us! Please reach out even if your experience doesn't perfectly match the job description. We can always explore other options after starting the conversation. Your background and passion will set you apart, especially if your career path is different.
