Our institutional clients comprise over 1,000 universities, colleges, and biopharma companies, including leaders such as Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. As a rapidly growing company, with offices in the USA, UK, Australia, and India servicing clients in over 60 countries, we are seeking talented and ambitious individuals to join our company
The Role
JoVE is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our in-house Marketing team. This role is primarily focused on graphic design and marketing collateral production, supporting teams across JoVE with high-quality, brand-consistent digital and print assets.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented designer who can independently interpret marketing briefs, translate business requirements into effective visual solutions, manage multiple projects, and incorporate AI-assisted workflows to improve speed and efficiency while maintaining JoVE's brand standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce marketing collateral including flyers, brochures, social media graphics and carousels, email banners, presentations, event materials, booth graphics and adaptations, landing page assets, and other campaign deliverables.
- Adapt approved designs across different formats, platforms, audiences, campaigns, and languages while maintaining visual and brand consistency.
- Prepare professional print-ready artwork, with a strong understanding of bleed, trim, safe areas, resolution, color modes, and large-format production requirements.
- Build and update HubSpot landing page sections using Rich Text modules, HTML, and CSS.
- Use HTML/CSS knowledge to modify layouts, troubleshoot responsive or styling issues, and review, debug, and optimize AI-generated code when required.
- Use AI-assisted design tools to rapidly prototype first-draft concepts, helping teams establish and approve a visual direction before final production.
- Prototype landing page sections visually using AI where appropriate, then translate approved concepts into functional HTML/CSS for HubSpot.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI into design and production workflows to reduce repetitive work and improve turnaround times without compromising quality or brand consistency.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Studio, Brand, Events, Sales, and other internal teams, incorporating stakeholder feedback accurately and delivering work within agreed timelines.
- Translate marketing objectives and business terminology into clear design hierarchy, visual communication, and production requirements.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in graphic and marketing design, supported by a portfolio covering digital campaigns, social media, print collateral, presentations, events, and brand-consistent design work.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, composition, and corporate brand systems.
- Strong proficiency in Canva, which will be the primary tool for day-to-day design production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly for booth graphics, vector artwork, large-format, and print production.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for image editing and asset preparation.
- Practical knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to troubleshoot and modify code rather than relying solely on AI-generated output.
- Experience with HubSpot landing pages or similar CMS platforms is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools for visual exploration, prototyping, coding assistance, and workflow optimization.
- Able to use AI as a productivity tool while applying independent design judgment, quality control, and brand guidelines to the final output.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
