Who are Tyk, and what do we do?
The Tyk AI and API Management platform is helping to drive the connected world and power new products and services. We’re changing the way that organisations connect any number of their systems and services. Whether internal, external, public or highly encrypted systems, Tyk helps businesses drive value across the retail, finance, telecoms, healthcare, or media industries (to name just a few!)
If you’ve banked online, used an app to check the news, or perhaps even driven a connected car, API’s, and by extension, Tyk, make that possible. Founded in 2015 with offices in London - UK, London - Ontario, Atlanta and Singapore, we have many thousands of users of our B2B platform across the globe. Brands using Tyk range from Lotte, Bell, T Mobile, to RBS, Capital One and Vinci. We have a varied user base hailing from every continent – even Antarctica.
Our Mission
Tyk is on a mission to connect every system in the world. We’ve started by building an API Management platform.
Total flexibility, default remote, radical responsibility
We offer unlimited paid holidays and remote working from anywhere in the world, for everyone, Why? Tyk was founded on the principle of offering flexibility and autonomy to our employees, we believe this allows our employees to achieve their best results. It also means we can build the best possible team, location and working hours are no barrier.
If this sounds like an environment that you believe could work for you then read on to find out more.
Why this role, why now
Tyk spent a decade becoming essential infrastructure for some of the world's biggest companies. We're now doing the same thing for the AI era — and we want someone to help us move marketing through that shift. It's a rare moment: a profitable, established company moving fast into new territory, with a small enough team that you'll shape the direction, not just execute it.
Requirements
Here’s what you’ll be getting up to:
This is a doing role. You’ll own initiatives end-to-end - planning them and then executing them yourself, with AI as a force multiplier.
- Own campaigns and launches end-to-end. Write the brief, build the assets and copy, ship the campaign or launch, and report on how it did - you don’t hand any part of that off to someone else or an agency.
- Run events from first invite to final follow-up. Own the details of owned, sponsored and community events - logistics, outreach, on-the-day readiness, and the follow-up sequence that turns attendees into pipeline.
- Use AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty. Build tools like Claude or ChatGPT into your day-to-day - research, first drafts, campaign builds, reporting - so you can output like a bigger team, ship like an engineer, and bring the rest of the marketing team along with you.
- Turn a priority into a plan with your name on it. Take “we should do X” and turn it into a scoped plan - timeline, owner, success metric - then execute it yourself rather than delegating the “how.”
- Keep GTM moving across Marketing, Sales and Product. Chase the people, approvals and information you need across teams so initiatives don’t stall, and make sure what you ship lands with real commercial impact, not just activity.
- Report on what worked. Track the metrics that actually show impact for each initiative (pipeline influenced, cost, conversion, attendance - whatever fits), share the results even when they’re not flattering, and use them to decide what to do next.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 2–3 years’ experience as a marketing manager, growth marketer or similar - background matters less than what you’ve built and how you think. B2B SaaS experience is a plus, not a requirement; agency background is welcome, especially if you’ve built things from scratch for multiple clients.
- A builder, not just a contributor. You’ve made something from scratch - a campaign, a launch, a side project, a small business - and you can point to it and say “I built that.”
- A strategic executor. You can zoom out to see the bigger picture, then zoom back in and do the work yourself, rather than handing the “how” to someone else.
- Commercially minded. You think in pipeline and revenue, not just opens and impressions, and you can talk through a deal or a campaign you helped move forward.
- A self-starter. You manage competing priorities and deadlines without being managed, and you raise problems before they become fire drills.
- Genuinely into AI. You already use tools like Claude or ChatGPT in your own work, and you have real opinions about where AI is taking marketing - not just enthusiasm for the idea of it.
- Hungry for ownership. You’re at the point in your career where you want real responsibility, and you’re looking for a team small enough that you get it fast.
- Comfortable with - or quick to pick up - Monday.com and HubSpot. You don’t need hand-holding on the basics of project management or marketing ops tools.
Is this right for you?
This role is for you if…
- You love building and shipping things yourself, and want a lot of ownership
- You’re excited by the idea of helping shape an AI-first marketing team from the front
- You thrive in a small, senior team where everyone does the work
It’s probably not for you if…
- You’re mainly looking to manage a team or oversee others’ work
- You prefer a big, structured organisation with lots of specialists to delegate to
- You want to focus on strategy and planning rather than execution

Our values tell the story of Tyk - here’s how:
- It’s ok to screw up!
We’ve found that it’s often the ‘stupid’ or unexpected ideas that turn out to be the successful ones - so try it, at least we can say we have!
- The only stupid idea, is the untested one!
It’s in our DNA - starting a business with founders 12 hours apart, giving our gateway away for free - sure, we did that, and we’d do it again!
- Trust starts with you - make it count!
Trust is a two-way street - instil it from day one!
- Assume best intent!
We have each other’s back - we’re all on the same team. Think before you speak or act.
- Make things better!
Always try to leave things better than when you found them - change is constant, inevitable and embraced! Be that change we want to see.
