The listing
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced LEASING AND OPERATIONS ATTORNEY to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the company’s commercial real estate Leasing, Property Management and Asset Management Department, while also supporting various administrative functions for the Legal Department. An integral aspect of this role includes drafting, negotiating, analyzing and tracking commercial leases and other various corresponding legal documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, revise, track, and execute various lease amendments and license agreements
- Utilize generative AI and workflow software to prepare, revise, track and administer legal work
- Maintain organized files and checklists to track project status and critical dates
- Compiles and distributes regular recurring reports for weekly update meetings
- Produces presentation materials with direction from management and/or team leads
- Maintains consistency with various company form documents used company wide
- Process and record deal data provided by internal team timely and accurately
- Review and analyze all commercial real estate documents as it relates to preparing summary reports and assisting in administering tenant leases
- Consistently monitoring email (personal inbox and administrative inboxes) and updating internal message and communication boards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of Juris Doctorate (J.D) degree
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience working in commercial real estate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs), workflow and document managements systems (Salesforce, Yardi, BI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly and effectively advising, coordinating, and executing with different business stakeholders
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, while being a team player who is ready to assist when needed
- Familiarity with commercial leasing language and retail lease agreements is preferred
- Experience working in-house within a real estate company is preferred
- Experience working in a high growth organization with a sense of urgency is preferred
