Job Summary
Reporting to the Lead Sound Engineer / Audio Tech Lead, the Sound Engineer will collaborate with the global team of Sound Engineers performing technical audio tasks like postproduction, effects, mastering, leveling and mixing, among others. Sound engineers will be designated as Audio Project Leads (APL) for certain project batches, thus overseeing the project’s audio technical management and coordinating with their colleagues and other stakeholders like Project Managers, Audio Asset Managers, Audio QA, Recording Studios, etc.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Sound Engineer Tasks
- Prepare recording sessions following best practices or specific project/client/recording studio needs.
- Follow technical specifications in the tasks they perform. • Perform audio postproduction on recorded assets.
- Work on other audio tasks like mixing, sound effect creation, audio batch analysis and processing, etc.
- Keep constant communication with their manager, sharing any relevant information about their workload, risks and opportunities they anticipate.
- Coordinate with fellow colleagues doing postproduction work.
- Build productive working relationships with all other Globalize teams, like Project Managers, Audio Asset Managers, Audio QA, Recording Studios, etc.
Audio Project Lead (APL) Tasks
- Oversee the technical management of specific audio projects or batches.
- Work alongside Project Managers, Audio QA, Audio Asset Managers, or Recording Studios to ensure the project’s timelines, technical specs and quality demands are met.
- Coordinate the work of other Sound Engineers on these projects.
- Support their manager on onboarding, training and mentoring other Sound Engineers.
- Assist Recording Studio teams in tasks like recordings, session preparation, audio deliveries and studio upkeep.
- Support their manager in promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual support within the Globalize team, with other Service Lines and Shared Services teams.
- Any other audio tasks at their manager’s request.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills (English and other language).
- Ability to communicate clearly and in a concise manner with all the stakeholders, including the members of their team and other teams in Globalize.
- Good knowledge of the Audio Localization workflows, processes and tools.
- Good knowledge of digital audio workstations and innovations in the sound engineering field.
- Basic knowledge of video games market (publishers, developers, platforms, titles, etc.).
- Experience in audio recording and postproduction.
- Experience working in the videogames industry is highly preferred.

- Ability to use good judgment to prioritize tasks.
- Able to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced, complex environment.
