Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime". This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands. To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occurred since the game's launch 4 years ago.
Role Overview
We’re seeing a detail-oriented and experienced QA Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality gameplay experiences by rigorously testing features, identifying issues and collaborating closely with developers and designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing test cases for features and systems and across the project and various platforms
- Identify, investigate, and report high-quality bugs with clear and concise reproduction steps.
- Work directly with QA leadership and Senior QA to understand best practices in testing and documentation
- Perform regression, smoke, and exploratory testing throughout development cycles.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and producers to ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
- Provide feedback on gameplay balance, usability, and user experience from a player’s perspective.
- Help maintain test plans and test case documentation.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of QA testing experience in the video game industry
- Comprehensive understanding of QA methodologies, bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), and version control tools (e.g., Perforce, Git).
- Experience testing PC and/or Console game projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide actionable feedback.
- Keen attention to detail and a passion for ensuring quality gameplay experiences.
- Ability to work as part of a team within a fast-paced development environment.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum workflows is a plus.
- Experience with Unreal Engine is a plus.
Bonus Skills
- Scripting experience for automation or test tools.
- Experience working with multiplayer or live service titles.
- A passion for games and deep knowledge of current gaming trends.
The contract rate for this position is listed below. Final compensation within the applicable salary range will be determined based on factors such as the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and work location.
San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; & Seattle, WA DC Metropolitan Areas: $21 - $26 USD hourly
Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; & Miami, FL Metropolitan Areas: $18 - $22 USD hourly
All Other U.S. Locations: $15 - $19 USD hourly
