Position Summary
The Cross-Serve Leader is responsible for the comprehensive design, development, and facilitation of the Cross-Serve Enablement workshop series. This pivotal role transforms the firm-wide cross-serve strategy into practical, actionable habits that advisors at all levels can confidently apply: identifying client needs outside their business unit, trusting colleagues for referrals, and ensuring seamless client hand-off while safeguarding both client interests and existing relationships.
This position addresses two persistent challenges in cross-functional financial services organizations: a lack of understanding of other business units’ capabilities and insufficient trust to confidently refer clients across units. Rooted in the program’s core philosophy—cross-serve is client-led and fiduciary-driven, not merely cross-selling—the Cross-Serve Leader develops the skills and trust necessary for collaboration across Wealth, Institutional, Investment Banking, the Independent Platform, Insurance, Tax, and Trust Services. This enables advisors to naturally partner on client cases, delivering holistic solutions.
As a design-and-delivery expert, the Cross-Serve Leader authors curriculum, maintains shared program assets, creates client-case simulations, facilitates engaging workshops across all participant levels, and iterates program content based on feedback and observed performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate both in-person and virtual “Cross Serve in Action” workshops that enhance understanding of each business unit’s strengths and offerings.
Design interactive experiences that foster trust and relationship-building, supporting effective, client-first collaboration across the enterprise.
Collaborate with business units to ensure Cross Serve content remains current, relevant, and aligned with emerging business needs.
Co-create enterprise capstone projects that convert best practices from top performers into practical training for junior roles.
Establish psychologically safe environments that encourage open, candid relationship-building in all workshops.
Drive ongoing communication and collaboration between Mariner Academy and enterprise business-unit partners.
Apply adult learning theory to design engaging, scenario-based simulations for real-world application.
Model and reinforce a client-first, trust-based approach to cross-unit referrals rather than focusing on sales volume.
Measure, analyze, and report collaboration outcomes to continuously improve program effectiveness.
Demonstrate and champion a client-centered communication leadership style in all program delivery.
Provide workshop support across all areas of the enterprise as needed.
