About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Joinery Drafter to prepare accurate technical drawings for residential and commercial cabinetry projects.

The successful candidate must be confident drafting in standard CAD programs and transferring completed designs into specialized production software for manufacturing. This role requires someone who understands cabinetry and joinery construction and can produce clear, accurate, and manufacturing-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cabinetry and joinery drawings using CAD software.
  • Transfer and convert CAD drawings into manufacturing/nesting software.
  • Create accurate plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
  • Produce manufacturing-ready drawings for custom cabinetry projects.
  • Prepare cabinet layouts, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Develop cutting information and documentation suitable for automated production.
  • Review architectural plans, client drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
  • Ensure drawings accurately reflect the approved design and site requirements.
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or potential manufacturing issues before production.
  • Make drawing revisions based on feedback from leadership, project teams, or clients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized drawing files and project documentation.
  • Work closely with the Australian team to ensure drawings are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support both residential and commercial joinery projects as required.

Requirements

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven professional experience as a Joinery Drafter, Cabinetry Drafter, or Production Detailer.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD drafting software.
  • Practical experience using specialized cabinet manufacturing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to draw in CAD software and transfer drawings accurately into manufacturing programs.
  • Sound understanding of cabinetry construction, joinery methods, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, plans, measurements, and specifications.
  • Experience preparing detailed, production-ready joinery drawings.
  • Strong understanding of dimensions, materials, hardware, and cabinet components.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of drafting accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and complete drawings within agreed deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Previous experience working with an Australian cabinetry or joinery business.
  • Knowledge of Australian joinery standards and construction terminology.
  • Experience preparing drawings or files for automated manufacturing machinery.
  • Familiarity with hardware and materials from major international suppliers.
  • Experience across both residential and commercial joinery.
  • Understanding of cabinetry production, panel cutting, edging, and assembly.
  • 3D modeling experience would be advantageous.
