Position: Fit Out Quantity Surveyor
Salary: PHP90,000-PHP140,000/month
Working Hours & Conditions: Mondays to Fridays; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST
OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a commercially-minded Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the Australian market. This role isn't just about counting tiles; it’s about managing the financial heartbeat of fast-paced office fit-outs, new builds, and educational facilities (schools). You’ll be the bridge between the design vision and the bottom line.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take-offs & BOQs: Measure digital drawings to create master "shopping lists" for everything from glass partitions to custom finishes in high-spec commercial spaces.
- Tendering: Manage the procurement process by sending BOQs to specialist subcontractors and performing rigorous price comparisons to ensure maximum value.
- Valuations: Conduct regular site visits to verify work progress, ensuring payments are only authorized for completed, high-quality work.
- Variations: Rapidly calculate the cost impact when clients or designers pivot on materials or layouts, keeping the budget agile but controlled.
- Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR): Run monthly reports to track project profitability and proactively identify potential "money pits."
- Final Accounts: Lead negotiations on final bills with contractors to ensure a fair, transparent, and timely project closure.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- AU Experience (Non-Negotiable): Minimum 2–4 years of experience specifically within the Australian construction industry. You must have a deep understanding of local codes, market rates, and subcontractor landscapes.
- Proven experience delivering office fit-outs, new builds, and school/educational projects.
- Digital Toolkit:
- Take-offs: Advanced proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, CostX, or AI-assisted tools like Togal.AI.
- Project & Cost Management: Expert-level use of Procore and Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking.
- BIM & Estimating: Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, or digital tendering platforms (e.g., Causeway, ProEst).
- Data Mastery: Advanced Excel skills for complex data modeling and financial reporting.
The Ideal Candidate
- Eagle-Eyed: You have the ability to spot a missing item on a complex floor plan that others might overlook.
- "Tough but Fair": A powerhouse negotiator who can hold contractors accountable while maintaining stellar relationships with designers and stakeholders.
- High Velocity: You thrive in high-pressure environments where projects move from "empty shell" to "grand opening" in a matter of weeks.
