Role mission
To ensure absolute financial discipline, predictability, and efficiency across our global marketing spend. Your mission is to take complete ownership of the marketing budget ledger and the end-to-end invoice pipeline. By eliminating financial leaks, automating reconciliation, and analyzing spend efficiency, you will turn financial data into a strategic asset, ensuring every dollar spent by the marketing team drives maximum business value.
Requirements hard skills
Advanced Spreadsheet Mastery: Expert-level Google Sheets / Excel skills (Index/Match, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Nested IFs, conditional formatting).
Ability to build complex financial models.
FinOps / Accounting Foundation: Deep understanding of accounting principles relevant to marketing (accruals, prepaid expenses, PO systems, VAT/withholding taxes, and multi-currency accounting).
Experience with Financial Systems: Hands-on experience with ERPs or spend-management platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Spendesk, or similar).
Marketing Metric Literacy: Strong familiarity with marketing KPIs (CPA, CPL, ROAS, CAC, LTV) so you can understand what the team is buying, not just the dollar amount.
Data Visualization: Basic to intermediate experience with data visualization tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, or PowerBI) to present budget data to executives.
Requirements soft skills
Surgical Attention to Detail: A natural obsession with accuracy. You are the type of person who cannot sleep if a spreadsheet is off by $1.50.
Assertiveness & Boundary-Setting: Ability to politely but firmly push back on marketers who try to bypass the invoice approval process or overspend their budgets.
High Communication Clarity: Ability to act as a "translator" between creative marketers and strict corporate accountants, understanding the needs of both sides.
Problem-Solving & Resourcefulness: In fintech, payments fail, and banks ask for extra compliance documents. You must be proactive in finding ways to get invoices paid on time.
Responsibilities
Budgeting & Financial Tracking
Maintain, track, and update the global marketing budget ledger (Daily/Weekly/Monthly updates).
Compare "Budget vs. Actual" spend, flagging overspends or under-utilized budgets to the CMO and regional heads.
Manage multi-currency complexities, tracking how exchange rate fluctuations impact the overall marketing runway.
Invoice & Payment Operations
Process all incoming marketing invoices, matching them against approved contracts, insertion orders (IOs), and actual campaign delivery.
Coordinate payment priorities with the corporate finance/treasury department (including fiat bank wires, corporate cards, and crypto payments if applicable).
Troubleshoot billing issues, payment failures, or disputed charges directly with vendors.
FinOps Analysis & Reporting
Analyze marketing vendor performance from a cost perspective (negotiating better payment terms or volume discounts where possible).
Collaborate with data analysts to calculate true CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) by factoring in hidden operational/tooling costs, not just raw ad spend.
Manage the marketing tech stack inventory, optimizing subscription renewals and seat allocations.
Will be a plus
Prior experience working as a FinOps Specialist, Marketing Accountant, or Media Buying Operations Manager specifically within a CFD/Forex Brokerage, Crypto exchange, or iGaming company.
