The listing
Position: Senior Accountant – Australian Tax & Business Services (Public Practice)
Salary: up to PHP90,000/month (negotiable for the right hire)
Working Hours & Conditions: Mondays to Fridays; 8:00AM - 5:00PM AEST
Holidays: TBD
OVERVIEW:
This is a hands-on tax and business services role suited to an accountant with strong Australian taxation experience. You need to have attention to details. Also, you must be comfortable completing work from start to finish with minimal supervision.
You will work across individual and small business clients and be responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting, and assisting with continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tax & Accounting
- Prepare Individual Tax Returns from start to finish, including:
- Income and expense analysis
- Rental property schedules
- Capital gains tax calculations
- Sole trader schedules
- Preparation of client query lists
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) / IAS.
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns in Xero for:
- Sole traders
- Companies
- Trusts
- Use ATO Online Services for Agents (ATO Portal) to download reports
- Maintain and review fixed asset registers, including eƯective life assessments.
Bookkeeping & Payroll
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records (limited number of clients).
- Process payroll and related compliance where required.
Corporate Compliance
- Assist with ABN, TFN and GST registrations.
- Prepare ASIC annual review documentation.
- Lodge ASIC changes (oƯiceholders, shareholders, addresses, company names).
- Training will be provided where necessary for ASIC matters.
Practice & Systems
- Set up new clients in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and document systems.
- Assist with structure (company, trust, super fund) establishment paperwork.
- Maintain up-to-date procedural documentation.
- Proactively identify eƯiciency improvements and value-add opportunities.
General
- Support ad-hoc tax and business projects.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 4+ years of Australian public practice tax experience (essential).
- Strong background in Business Services and Tax.
- Ability to complete jobs independently and accurately.
- Experience with:
- Xero & Hubdoc
- Xero Tax
- QuickBooks / MYOB
- Xero Practice Manager
- SuiteFiles (highly preferred)
- Confident using ATO portals.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- EƯective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
