As Business Development Director for Europe, you will identify and shape high-value opportunities, build senior relationships across governments and defense organizations, and lead opportunities from early engagement through contract award.This is a highly international role with significant travel across Europe.

What You'll Do 

  • Own and drive Destinus' business development strategy across Europe, defining priority markets, customers, and programs 
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across ministries of defense, armed forces, government agencies, defense primes, and strategic partners 
  • Identify, qualify, and shape major defense opportunities from early engagement through proposal, negotiation, and contract award 
  • Develop a strong understanding of European defense priorities, procurement dynamics, capability gaps, and competitive landscapes 
  • Build market entry strategies and strategic partnerships across priority European countries 
  • Represent Destinus in senior customer meetings, industry events, demonstrations, and strategic engagements 
  • Own the European opportunity pipeline, ensuring clear prioritization, forecasting, and execution 
  • Work closely with Destinus leadership and multidisciplinary teams on strategic accounts and high-value opportunities 
  • Provide strategic direction and senior-level support to Business Development Managers across European markets 

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Significant experience in business development, sales, or strategy within defense, aerospace, UAVs, autonomous systems, or a closely related sector 
  • Proven experience developing business with European defense customers, governments, armed forces, or major industry players 
  • A strong network within the European defense ecosystem and credibility with senior military, government, and industry stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated success shaping and winning complex, high-value opportunities 
  • Strong understanding of European defense procurement, government contracting, and multinational defense programs 
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate market opportunities into actionable business strategies 
  • Experience leading negotiations, strategic partnerships, proposals, and major customer engagements 
  • Excellent English communication skills. Additional European languages are highly valued 
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe and internationally 
  • Eligibility to work with defense-related technologies and obtain relevant security clearances where required
