The listing
The Senior FP&A and Reporting Accountant will support financial planning, management reporting, modelling, business analysis, and reporting automation within a lean finance function. This is a hands-on, build-focused role for someone comfortable developing models, reporting, and processes from the ground up, while turning complex financial data into clear and actionable insights for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and KPI reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Support the month-end close, including relevant accruals, journals, and reconciliations, in partnership with the accounting and controllership team.
- Produce variance analysis across actual, budget, forecast, and prior-year results, clearly explaining key drivers behind movements.
- Own and maintain Excel-based budgeting and forecasting models, supporting the annual budget process and periodic reforecasts.
- Maintain and improve the integrated three-way financial model covering profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow, ensuring it remains accurate and reliable for forecasting and cash planning.
- Build and maintain financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis, ensuring they are well structured, documented, and easy to roll forward.
- Manage group and multi-entity consolidation and consolidated reporting using Syft Analytics, ensuring outputs reconcile to underlying Xero data.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and decision support for management, including pricing, cost, and ROI analysis where required.
- Maintain and enhance existing BI reporting and build new Power BI dashboards to provide clear insight into financial and operational performance.
- Use Power BI to model data and connect to source systems, including Xero, Excel, and data warehouse sources.
- Improve and automate reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve data reliability.
- Act as a finance point of contact for assigned business areas, translating financial information into clear and actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across functions to support the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.

Requirements
- Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is essential.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a reporting-focused finance role is essential.
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements is essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills are essential, including the ability to build and maintain complex models and an integrated three-way financial model covering profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Strong capability in working with large datasets and using Excel functions such as lookups, pivot tables, and dynamic formulas to automate analysis is essential.
- Proven Power BI experience is essential, including dashboard development, data modelling, Power Query, DAX, and publishing or sharing reports.
- Xero experience is essential, or strong experience with a comparable cloud accounting platform together with the ability to become proficient in Xero quickly.
- Experience with Syft Analytics or a comparable consolidation and reporting tool is desirable.
- Experience working within a small or lean finance team, SME, or scale-up environment is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail, are essential.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders, are essential.
- Ability to take ownership, work independently, and manage deadlines effectively is essential.
- Ability to build models, reporting, and processes from the ground up and operate effectively where detailed processes may not yet exist is essential.
- Strong collaborative skills and confidence working across finance and non-finance teams are essential.
- Familiarity with AI tools to support financial analysis, modelling, and reporting is desirable.
- Familiarity with EPM or financial planning tools, SQL or other data tools, and Python or other finance automation tools is desirable.
- Experience automating or transforming reporting processes, or establishing reporting or finance processes within a growing business, is highly regarded.
