About the Role
As a CRO / Website Optimization Specialist, you will own a client's website and quiz-funnel experimentation roadmap from opportunity identification through execution and analysis. This is not a strategy-only position: you will formulate hypotheses, build and launch tests yourself, analyze performance, and determine what should happen next.
You'll have meaningful autonomy across Shopify, landing pages, quizzes, cart optimization, analytics, and experimentation tools. The right person combines strong CRO judgment with the technical confidence to make changes independently without relying on the client to finish or troubleshoot the execution.
Working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST.
Responsibilities
- Own the website and quiz-funnel experimentation roadmap, prioritizing opportunities based on customer behavior, data, and potential conversion impact.
- Turn conversion opportunities into clear hypotheses with defined success metrics and a rationale for why each test is worth running.
- Personally build, QA, and launch A/B tests using Intelligems or comparable experimentation platforms.
- Make Shopify front-end changes independently, including landing page updates, merchandising improvements, UX changes, and conversion-focused site enhancements.
- Build and optimize landing pages rather than relying solely on designers or developers to execute your recommendations.
- Improve quizzes and personalization funnels using Digioh or comparable tools to increase engagement and progression through the purchase journey.
- Optimize cart and upsell experiences using Rebuy, Smart Cart, or similar Shopify conversion tools.
- Use GA4 and platform-level analytics to evaluate website behavior, conversion performance, event tracking, and experiment outcomes.
- Translate experiment results into clear next steps, including follow-up tests, rollouts, iterations, or changes in roadmap priority.
- Troubleshoot unfamiliar website and platform issues independently using documentation, support resources, AI tools, and structured problem-solving.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 3-6+ years of hands-on experience in CRO, e-commerce website optimization, growth, or a closely related role, with flexibility for candidates whose experience demonstrates equivalent depth.
- Strong practical knowledge of e-commerce conversion optimization, including funnels, customer journeys, merchandising, UX, and key conversion levers.
- Hands-on Shopify front-end experience with the ability to make and troubleshoot website changes independently.
- Proven ownership of A/B testing from opportunity identification and hypothesis creation through implementation, analysis, and next-step recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with Intelligems or a comparable experimentation platform, plus working knowledge of GA4 and website conversion analytics.
- Ability to personally build landing pages and conversion experiences rather than only producing briefs for designers or developers.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed written or video instructions carefully when working with sensitive website or company information.
Nice to Have:
- Experience using Digioh for quizzes, funnels, personalization, or comparable conversion experiences.
- Experience with Rebuy, Smart Cart, or similar Shopify upsell and cart-optimization tools.
- Direct experience working with DTC e-commerce brands.
- Experience optimizing subscription-based e-commerce businesses.
- Previous experience in a role that combined strategic CRO ownership with substantial hands-on execution.
