This is a non-union positionEnbridge Gas Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho is seeking an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our Engineering Technical Services team. This highly technical role is ideal for an engineer with experience in natural gas pipeline design, engineering standards, HDD/trenchless design, geotechnical evaluations, and technical support for pipeline construction and operations.
In this role, you will serve as a senior technical resource supporting complex pipeline and station engineering challenges across Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. You will lead design reviews and technical assessments, develop and interpret engineering standards and specifications, support HDD and geotechnical evaluations, and partner closely with Operations, Construction, Asset Management, and other engineering teams.

What You Will Do:
- Lead complex engineering activities including standards development, specifications, design of pipelines and stations, design reviews, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) design, geotechnical evaluations, and technical assessments.
- Provide senior technical expertise to operations, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve complex technical issues independently, recommending design or standards deviations as needed.
- Integrate and coordinate engineering requirements across operations, construction, and asset management teams.
- Drive standards and specification management programs, ensuring alignment and consistency across the business.
- Support high-impact capital and maintenance projects, including risk assessments, asset integrity reviews, collaborator communication, and mentoring of technical teams.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Civil, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Petroleum, or other engineering fields with directly related pipeline experience will be considered.
- 6+ years of related paid experience in engineering design, engineering build, standards development, and frontline operations technical support within manufacturing, energy, consulting, or similar industries.
- Holds a Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or can obtain one.
- Advanced knowledge of pipeline engineering, design practices, and key industry standards (Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration [DOT PHMSA], American Society Mechanical Engineers [ASME], American Petroleum Institute [API]).
- Proven ability to independently solve complex technical problems, applying strong analytical and sound engineering judgment.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, able to influence partners and convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project manager who uses analytical abilities to problem solve while showing a proven ability to collaborate multi-functionally and influence partners
The following are considered assets:
- Experience in natural gas utilities, pipeline operations, or similar energy sectors
- Experience with standards development and specification management
- Knowledge of HDD, geotechnical engineering, and asset integrity practices is a plus but is not required
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers or coordinating technical teams
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Requires grasping, kneeling, lifting objects up to 20 pounds, reaching overhead, and performing repetitive movements. Tasks include typing, sitting, standing, and visual activities such as viewing screens, recognizing color codes, and reading fine print. Hearing ability, prolonged computer use, and the ability to work in tight spaces are also necessary.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral or written instructions and other information. Understand complex problems and explore alternative solutions collaboratively. Coordinate thoughts and ideas into clear terminology. Prioritize and coordinate a short-term work schedule. Make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor effects beyond it. Follow basic instructions and guidelines. Complete routine forms and compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports. Communicate with individuals via telephone and other channels.
Working Conditions:

- Standard business hours with availability for after-hours and on-call support as needed.
- Moderate travel (<20%) to other offices or job sites.
- A valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be verified before hire.
