We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Grants Specialist to manage our end-to-end grant management lifecycle. In this role, you will research funding opportunities, draft compelling proposals, ensure compliance with funder guidelines, and oversee post-award reporting. The ideal candidate blends strong persuasive writing with rigorous financial and administrative precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opportunity Research & Identification: Prospect foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.
- Proposal Development: Write, edit, and submit complete grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Post-Award Administration: Monitor active grants to ensure programmatic milestones and financial expenditures comply with donor regulations.
- Reporting & Compliance: Draft quarterly and annual progress reports, track deliverables, and manage grant closeout processes.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with program managers and finance teams to collect data, develop realistic grant budgets, and verify spending compliance.
- Database Maintenance: Track application deadlines, reporting schedules, and historical grant records in the internal database/CRM.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of direct experience in grant writing, research, and post-award grant administration.
- Writing Excellence: Proven ability to synthesize complex program goals into persuasive, clear proposals.
- Financial Literacy: Experience building project budgets and analyzing financial reports.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with grant tracking software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Grants.gov) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and European uniform guidance (2 CFR 200) or foundation compliance standards is preferred.
