- Answers inbound phone calls in a polite and professional manner.
- Completes tasks from referring providers to find the next level of care for patients.
- Faxes or makes phone calls to specialists' offices and patients regarding appointments.
- Contacts insurance companies for prior authorizations and ensures referred providers are in-network.
- Mails new patient paperwork and referral information to patients.
- Contacts patients regarding any in-progress or pending referrals.
- Maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation in the referral tracking database and the patient's EHR.
- Communicates with clinical staff and physicians about issues related to patient referrals or the need for further follow-up care.
- Ensures referrals are addressed in a timely, consistent, and organized manner to avoid delays in patient care.
- Completes insurance verification when applicable.
- Generates and mails self-pay letters to patients as directed.
- Provides a safe, quiet, and private work environment free from distractions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer proficiency required-in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. [Required]
- Must have knowledge of TJC requirements and local, state, and federal regulations. [Required]
- Call Center/Practice Telephonic Experience for In and Out bound calls. [Required]
- Medical Terminology [Preferred]
Education: - High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Associate [Preferred]
Work Experience: - Previous Call Center experience or similar experience [Required]
- 1+ experience as a ma-c or licensed nurse [Preferred]
- 1+ year experience as a lead role in a medical setting or other healthcare-related role [Preferred]
- Experience in various clinical areas inpatient or outpatient practices [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$16.79 - $26.86Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
