Role Summary
The Accelerating AI team's charter is broad and moving quickly. This role adds ownership depth where the portfolio needs it most. The specific assignment will be set at the offer stage based on portfolio priority, candidate strengths, and team fit.
Whichever surface you take, you own it end to end. You are expected to define the strategy, defend the sequencing, and answer for the results.
What You Will Do
- Own Product strategy and roadmap for your surface. You are at the forefront of agentic security, defining the future of how security teams operate at scale. You’ll set clear priorities that drive your product from definition through launch.
- Customer and partner discovery. Run design partner and MSP partner research sessions, separate signal from noise, and convert what you learn into roadmap decisions. Keep testing and revising that signal as usage data and customer feedback come in.
- Shipped product. Lead 0-to-1 delivery against committed dates by working directly with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams. Make clear trade-offs, keep scope disciplined, and get the product into customer hands.
- Adoption and engagement. Set and hit activation, usage, and retention targets. Run the experimentation program that moves those numbers.
- Quality, safety, and trust. Partner with the Securing AI PM and the AI Safety Office so your surface meets Sophos's internal AI standards. Define and maintain the eval framework for your product.
- Commercial readiness inputs. Supply requirements and evidence for packaging, licensing, and MSP/MSSP model decisions for your surface. Work with pricing, finance, sales, and other business teams so the commercial model reflects customer value and Sophos business goals.
- Prototypes, not just specs. PMs on this team are expected to use AI tooling to test concepts, expose product risks, and make decisions more concrete before asking engineering to build.
- Executive and field communication. Contribute to weekly updates, launch standups, QBR material, and enablement content. Brief executives and internal field audiences clearly and regularly.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of product management or related industry experience
- Demonstrated track record building for expert users, with a strong intuition for delivering the right solution for the right problem at the right time
- Direct, hands-on experience with the LLM product stack: RAG, prompt engineering, evals, model selection trade-offs, latency versus quality decisions, and hallucination mitigation.
- Strong instincts for what makes AI features get used versus abandoned. You have opinions on onboarding, default behaviors, engagement expansion, and correcting the failure modes that erode trust.
- Executive-grade written and verbal communication. This team operates in a tight loop with the CEO, President, CTO, and other executives, and the ideal candidate will navigate the different stakeholders with ease.
- Have hands-on experience driving action in ambiguous spaces.
- Cybersecurity, security operations, IT operations, or observability product experience.
- Hands-on experience with agentic systems: tool-calling, multi-agent orchestration, MCP, or similar.
- Experience with AI governance, data loss prevention, or acceptable-use policy enforcement.
- MSP or MSSP channel product experience, including multi-tenant and partner-delivered motions.
