About Mira Mace
Mira Mace is a venture-backed company on a mission to help Medicare patients navigate a complicated healthcare system with clarity and confidence. We pair people-centered navigation with technology so patients understand their care, stay connected to their providers, and get to the resources they need. Our advocates cut through insurance denials, medication costs, transportation gaps, and paperwork so patients get what they need, without fighting alone.
About the Role
You're the first person a new Mira Mace patient talks to. Older adults sign up because they need help with their healthcare. You call them back quickly, learn what they're dealing with, explain how our care works and how Medicare covers it, and book their first doctor visit before you hang up.
This is a phone-first, non-clinical role: you won't give medical advice. A CHW, LPN, or RN background, or years of talking with patients or health-plan members, is what lets you understand what a patient is telling you and explain the next step in words they trust.
What a Day Looks Like
About 6.5 hours of talk time with patients each day: calls you make to new signups and calls you take from patients calling us back.
A daily target of 15 activations: patients whose first doctor visit you booked on the call.
Calling new signups back quickly. The first conversation usually decides whether someone gets care.
On every call: listen, confirm Medicare and plan details, explain our services in plain language, and book the visit before you hang up.
Following up by phone and text with patients who didn't answer or weren't ready yet.
Documenting every conversation in our platform as you go, and flagging urgent needs to the care team.
Schedule
Core hours are 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday. You choose consistent blocks that add up to at least 20 hours a week, up to 40. Patients call when they call, so consistent availability matters.
Who We're Looking For
Required: one of these
An active LPN/LVN or RN license, or a Community Health Worker (CHW) certification, or
2+ years speaking directly with patients or health-plan members: member services at a health plan, patient access or intake, patient scheduling, or a patient-facing healthcare call center.
Also required
Located in the United States.
Working knowledge of Medicare: Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage, Part B, supplemental plans.
Comfort with a high volume of phone conversations, measured on booked visits rather than calls made.
A reliable computer, internet connection, and a quiet, private space for patient calls (you'll handle protected health information).
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare call center, patient access, or enrollment role.
Familiarity with Medicaid and other public programs.
Bilingual: Spanish, or another language common among Medicare patients.
This Role Is Not for You If
You want an email or chat support job. This one is on the phone most of the day.
You're looking for clinical work. You won't give medical advice.
You'd rather be measured on effort than on results.
Pay and Arrangement
$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, licensure, availability, and language skills. Compensation covers approved service time, including patient calls, documentation, and required administrative communications.
The role starts as a remote 1099 independent contractor position, so you're responsible for your own taxes. After a 3-month probation period, it can convert to W-2 employment.
