About the Work
We're looking for experienced video editors with a background in narrative, film, documentary, or other long-form content to review and improve video sequences.
You'll watch videos and assess how well they work from an editorial perspective — whether the story is clear, the cuts feel intentional, continuity holds up, and the pacing keeps the viewer engaged. You'll document your reasoning clearly, pointing to specific moments and explaining what works, what doesn't, and why.
You'll also perform hands-on editing, making changes to cuts, pacing, sequencing, continuity, and overall flow based on your editorial assessment.
Your written feedback and editing decisions will be used as part of an AI evaluation project, so we're looking for editors who can explain their creative and editorial decisions, not simply give a score.
What You'll Do:
- Review narrative and long-form videos and assess their editing quality
- Edit and refine video sequences based on your editorial assessment
- Evaluate whether the story or sequence is clear and makes sense
- Assess pacing and whether scenes or sequences move at the right pace
- Identify issues such as awkward cuts, jump cuts, continuity problems, unnecessary shots, or sections that drag or feel rushed
- Assess whether transitions between shots and scenes feel natural and intentional
- Explain your feedback clearly and reference specific moments in the video
- Make editorial adjustments to improve storytelling, pacing, sequencing, continuity, and overall flow
- Record your review/editing sessions as required for the project
What We're Looking For:
- Professional experience in video editing, particularly narrative or long-form work such as short films, documentaries, wedding films, long-form YouTube content, or TV
- Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, which will be the primary editing software
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, sequencing, continuity, and visual flow
- Ability to explain why an edit works or doesn't work, both verbally and in writing
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Strong attention to detail and consistency when reviewing video content
- A reel or portfolio that includes long-form work or pieces longer than five minutes
- Willingness to work on a part-time, hourly basis with flexible hours
Helpful but Not Required:
- Colour grading experience
- Sound editing or audio post-production experience
- Experience working with directors, producers, or structured editorial notes
- Experience working through multiple rounds of revisions
- Experience with different types of narrative or documentary storytelling
Engagement Details:
- Hourly, contract-based engagement
- Part-time and flexible hours
- Ongoing project with potential for long-term work
- Fully remote
- Work involves editing, reviewing, and recording sessions using DaVinci Resolve
- Only applicants who submit a relevant portfolio or reel will be considered for the next stage
Technical Requirements:
Because you'll be working in DaVinci Resolve and may record your editing/review sessions while working, you will need a computer and internet connection capable of handling both tasks reliably.
- Stable fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.)
- 100 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload recommended
- Backup internet connection (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP)
- At least 20 Mbps recommended
- Computer capable of running DaVinci Resolve comfortably:
- 16 GB RAM minimum; 32 GB preferred
- Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM; 8 GB+ preferred
- Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or equivalent processor or better
- 512 GB SSD minimum; 1 TB preferred
- Sufficient available storage for video files, project files, and recorded sessions
- Quiet, conducive home workspace suitable for focused editing and review sessions
- Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
- Power backup/UPS recommended for locations that experience frequent power interruptions
How to Apply:
Please submit the following with your application:
- Link to your portfolio showing relevant narrative or long-form editing work
Only applicants who provide a relevant portfolio will be considered for review.
